A perfect stay. Rooms were spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and a lovely new lodge with breakfast area and drying room. Breakfast choices were imaginative and nicely presented. Charming and attentive young owners. Location could not be bettered. Only a short walk to the Milecastle Inn ( which serves lovely food) and the AD122 bus stop. Can thoroughly recommend a stay at Bridge House.

Perfect stay near Hadrians Wall

All we were looking for was a bed for the night, and some breakfast. What we found was a lovely B and B in a beautiful location,  run by a lovely couple, just off the Hadrian’s Wall Way. We were really  well looked after in the short time we were there.  We really couldn’ve asked for any more.

Lovely B and B just off Hadrian’s Wall Way

My wife and I came for a little one night escape from the children for some rare us time. The hosts could not have been more accommodating, they advised us on walks, booked us in at the local pub over the road, sorted us out in the hot tub (£10 surcharge but worth it) and even gave us a lift back the train station (at a small cost). 

The location is amazing for walks (and the pub). Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. 

Breakfast is fine. It involves a booking system where you have to let them know what time you want it and make your order the night before ( toast, a hot sandwich , a cereal and coffee or tea) We were happy with this system although would have liked a few more options and it could have felt a bit more local but overall the breakfast was fine and set us up for the day (porridge was amazing) 

Overall a great B and B with even better hosts. We highly recommend to anyone wanting a night away, either as part of a hiking holiday or a walking and drinking get away like us.

Great short escape

Our Bridge House hosts were wonderful! Our room was beautiful and everything we wanted. Bathroom was spa like. 
Location couldn’t have been better. It was within a 10 minute walk to Hadrian’s Wall. The Mile Castle restaurant, right down the street from Bridge House, was excellent. Annette and Lydia volunteered to make a dinner reservation for us for the night we were there as it tends to fill up quickly.
We would definitely stay at Bridge House again!

Highly recommend The Bridge House!

This b&b is in the most stunning location! Beautiful views and so peaceful, and yet the pub is only 5 minutes walk away serving delicious meals. Hadrian's Wall visible from the windows. Utter tranquillity and calm.

The most fantastic views!

Cannot rate the Bridge House highly enough.  The B&B is a stone's throw from the (best bit of) wall and 20 steps from a great little pub to watch the sun set.  The room, bed, and shower were all perfect and the breakfast was the best I had all trip.  What's more, the hosts clearly don't think twice about going above and beyond for their guests, making sure that I had ice for a nagging injury from the trail despite my late arrival.  Just a rare level of hospitality.

Hands Down the Place to Stay in the Area

An absolute gem! New owners from October 2022 are lovely and know how to look after you. A very comfortable room for two weary walkers. We even had all our kit washed and ready for the next day. Breakfast is delicious, and the compote with yoghurt is yummy. We had dinner at the pub next door, which had to be booked - so popular! Great meal. Bank House and the pub have an excellent business relationship, which is great. Thank you so much x

New owners - an absolute gem!

We really enjoyed our stay at Bridge House. Ed and Lydia were very friendly and helpful hosts. The rooms were clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. The location is excellent for both Hadrians Wall and as a stop off on the way to Scotland. There is a very nice pub a couple of hundred yards away with good real ale. I stayed with my kids who are in their mid 20's and vegan and Ed and Lydia prepared excellent food which we all enjoyed. I would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent B&B with congenial hosts

Stayed overnight on our way up to Scotland. We were riding our motorbikes and we were able to store them safe and dry in the garage. 

The rooms were lovely and very clean, as were the bathrooms. It was great that we could control the heating in our room, as I hate a hot, stuffy room at night. 

We had breakfast in the “green room”, which was a conservatory on the side of the house. It was nice to have the chance to chat with other guests. I had a local sausage sandwich, which was very tasty. I could also have chosen cereal or porridge and toast, but I tend to have a smaller breakfast. They do not do a full English. 

I noticed that there is a hot tub outside the conservatory, but it was temporarily out of order. Annette, the owner, said they were getting it fixed and it would soon be available to guests. 

The location is great, with a nice pub just across the road, but otherwise very rural. It is a short walk from Hadrian’s wall and a great base to explore the wall, vindolanda  and the Roman Army Museum. 

Well worth a visit.
