We had a power cut in our neighbouring village and our local was shut, the next nearest pub was closed for a private function, so we went to the Bush Inn on the off chance on Saturday evening. The (charming and smiling) barmaid explained the kitchen was very busy and there would be a 45min delay but they could seat us. After that everything went smoothly, the calamari, fish pie, burger were all excellent and the breadbasket and crispy kale were simply superb, and all served by another smiling and efficient waitress! The atmosphere was relaxed and jovial and we will return!

Liz greeted us at the bar with a warm and friendly welcome, recommend two fantastic cocktails and showed us to a shaded table underneath a love tree in the garden. She has a rare gift of making every guest feel special.  I am vegetarian and thoroughly enjoyed the beetroot and feta risotto made from beetroot grown in the garden.

Haven’t been to this pub for years and years will certainly be returning.

We were on holiday staying in the nearby village of Tregagle so the Bush was our “local”. Had lunch here on our first  day after a long drive, a lovely warm welcome from the staff. Came twice more once for drinks and on Wednesday for pizza night. Delicious pizzas great beer dog friendly pub. Highly recommend thanks so much 😃

The most amazing pub , I have ever visited.  The beef and  blue cheese pie was sublime.  
The atmosphere, friendly; as many dogs as people, all  were well behaved and clearly regulars.  
Lisa , the manager, was wonderful, friendly, and hospitable.  Will definitely be returning in August when we are back in the area. Thank you so much for making our day.  The 3 vicars!!

Warm and friendly welcome after a winter walk in the beautiful countryside around Penallt. Really enjoyed our good value lunch. Varied choice of meals with interesting vegetarian options, always a bonus. 

Stopped off for a drink, very welcoming, beautiful large garden ideal for dogs, owner Chris is very friendly and very accommodating as we took our small reactive rescue dog. We sat out back and enjoyed the spectacular view, will definitely return... 

Its fun to find the place in the dark travelling up the narrow roads into Penallt but when you get there its stands warm and welcoming.   Its a village pub, in a pretty hill top village, with a few rooms.  The guests mingle with the locals in a pub with great atmosphere, well kept real ales and a great restaurant menu. Your are welcome from the moment you go in through the door.

The room, not overly large, but really comfortable was very quite over night after closing (about 23:00) so several really good nights sleep.  This sets you up for an excellent breakfast sitting either in the sun room or on the terrace looking out over the Wye Valley.  

Restaurant food is really good and if there on a Thursday its woodfired pizza night.  That's not just any pizza that's restaurant quality pizza and starters coming out of the outdoor pizza kitchen whilst you watch.

If only the WIFI extended to the rooms as there was no mobile phone or 3G signal as its out in the sticks.  Works well in the bar though so another good excuse to have a pint.

We popped in to this place on Sunday evening for a drink,we were given free roast potatoes which were absolutely gorgeous,I wish we had been earlier so we could of had the full roast dinner.
We booked to have the pizza ,so pleased we did it was worth every penny.
The best part for me was the desert ,Eton mess it’s to die for.
I would definitely recommend this place,it’s got a lovely ambience,the staff are very good and the owner is really friendly.
We were lucky to be staying nearby.

This a real gem of a place. Lovely, cosy pub with friendly staff and really great quality food - fresh, hot and perfectly cooked.  Super menu.  Overall very impressed.  Children & dog friendly too! Perfect!
