They said that the cancelation was free. But when I did it they refused, saying it was too late. Then they refused accomodating me because the room was already ocupied! So I should have my money back!

On June 25, 2016, we called this establishment  and booked two rooms for Monday, June 27th. We were told the rooms would cost 52.00 pounds and 72.00 pounds respectively.  We gave them our credit card number to establish the reservation.  When we arrived on Monday, the 27th and attempted to check in we were informed that the cost of the rooms had changed and that we would be charged over twice as much for each room (139.00, and 170.00 pounds).  We told the gentleman at the desk that we had reserved the room two days earlier at the lower, initial price.  He said that reserving a room at the Alba house with a credit card didn't provide any price guarantee.  He then became argumentative and asked us to provide proof that they gave us the price they quoted.  Needless to say, we left the establishment without staying there.  In summary, if you want to get screwed by an immoral,  money grubbing, “family owned business” this is the place for you.

The Bait and Switch

I was extremely disappointed with this bandb, I found them unreliable and not of a professional reputation.  These are my reasons:

I booked via booking.com at least two months (July-August) before my travel time in October for a work conference.  I noticed about a month (in September), that I had to share a bathroom and toilet.  I didn't like the idea, so I contacted to upgrade to an en-suite room on the 30th of September 2015.  

I was informed to cancel my previous booking and the guy I spoke to  said he would book another for 50 pounds.  Which would be 15 pounds more for the night, I agreed.  He then advised me that, the re-booking was done and all I needed to do was appear on the day with my payments.  He advised me to do it on the phone because I get a 6pounds discount fee as opposed to rebooking through booking.com.  We even discussed the distance from the b and b to the conference.

On the 27th of Oct, I contacted the bandb because, I noticed that, I had the previous booking confirmation  unknown to me that, the bandb had not rebooked my room or perhaps gave my room out to someone else.  I contacted them because I needed to be complete a reimbursement form in advance.  I spoke to a guy on the phone who claimed he was so busy and that he would contact in 5 minutes.  The guy didn't so therefore, I called back.  I was then told again he would call back in 5 minutes because his system was down.  He asked for my details in which I gave to him.  After almost 30mins, I contacted again as he did not contact me.  I was told my booking was cancelled and they had no rooms left and there was nothing he could do because I had no evidence and his manager was not available. I was refused the right to speak to anyone else.  And after a certain period of time, no one answered the phone again. 

I was travelling on the same day immediately after work and left stranded with no where to stay.  I spent hours of my break time in stress and the rest of my evening stressed.  There was no sense of sympathy or empathy or professionalism with this b and b.  Despite the fact that, I was travelling to Glasgow that evening. I was told the manager was on holiday and to call back the next day.  I was left with no where to stay has most places where all booked.  I had to get my sister to find me somewhere to stay while I was in the train as my battery at ran out trying to talk this people.  Please consider your choice before booking with them.  I went online after this incident and noticed there were very similar negative feedbacks like mine.  If only I review this before booking them, perhaps I wouldn't have gone through this stress.

Agreed a price with a gentleman on reception to stay a set amount of nights each week for £114, not a great price, but not bad. I was planning on coming back every week for 6 months at the least and had it been favourable, I would of recommended it to colleagues who may have done the same. Came back to stay the next week and was told that I needed to pay £20 for a late check-out on top of the £114 I'd already agreed. Tried to explain to the manager that I'd agreed a price including the late check out with the other gentleman. This price was £114, he didn't seem to be able to grasp this concept, so I ended up having to pay an extra £20 on top of what I'd already paid for the stay I'd agreed a week earlier. Needless to stay I won't be staying here for the next 6 months and I won't be recommending it to even my worst enemy. First room i stayed in was reasonable, clean and comfy. Second room was dirty and seemed to be below the most excessive stamper in the whole of Glasgow. 

Poor staff. Poor hotel. Poor business.

Disgraceful bathrooms.
Abysmal customer service, once they have your money they don't care.
Carpets smelled of stale alcohol vomit.

WENT TO ANOTHER HOTEL <~~~ TAKE NOTE!!

We booked this hotel last minute.Can honestly say,great hotel.Breakfast was bad.Staff great,need to go to local merchant and sell hotel more expensiveif get good breakfast ingredients.Chen you are you are delightful member of staff.Kéep up your good work.Nothing is to much trouble for you.Hotels get a bad review,but people dn't see what work goes into running it.I would come back here anytime,and only stay 30 minutes away.😃
