You are always apprehensive when you go on holiday to a new place, even more so when you go away for Christmas because you want everything to be perfect and I can honestly say it was.
we stayed for four days over the Christmas period and had a truly great time, we went to the clubhouse on Christmas eve and had a fantastic time, the staff couldn't be nicer and more helpful, we played adventure golf, snooker and took part in the quiz, (which we won so it made it even better), it was an amazing atmosphere.
The lodge was so clean and comfy and we went in the hot tub most days and just relaxed looking out over the pond. The lodge was fully equipped and there was even a welcome pack there on our arrival, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk in the fridge.
I can honestly say this was one of the best Christmases we have had, in fact we loved it so much we booked to go again for next Christmas the day we got home. Thank you Dacre lakeside park.

Amazing Christmas break

Just returned from an amazing 2 night stay in the Shepherds Hut. Everything you could possibly need was provided even down to umbrellas and blankets for sitting outside! Prosecco and milk in the fridge. Partner caught good size carp on the private fishing peg. Very private with fencing and pretty lights for sitting out at night. They have recently replaced the wood fired hot tubs with electric which were perfect. Beautiful views of the lake and surroundings. So peaceful!

Bert’s pizzeria is great for food and drinks and the pizzas are delicious!

Can’t say enough good things about this place it is beautiful we will absolutely be returning!!

Perfect shepherds hut in a beautiful setting 

Absolutely beautiful place, so peaceful and tranquil. Perfect choice for our short and sweet honeymoon. Cosy little hut with everything we needed right inside, Clean and inviting little space, we loved it. Special thanks to Craig the warden. Nice guy who couldn't do enough for us. Kept us well informed of everything and was there when we needed him. Close by for shops for the little things you need, even a chinese and chippy. Loved the hot tub, loved the views, loved the privacy for us. You've nailed it guys. I would definitely recommend and return. Thanks again

Exactly what we needed!! Perfect.

Dacre lakeside Park lodges are amazing . From the very friendly staff in reception to everything you could need for your stay . The grounds are kept immaculately and fab pizza restaurant on site . We highly recommend the place . Lots of little touches like dressing gowns and slippers to shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom . We loved the hot tub which was maintained every day . The furnishings and furniture all lovely and comfortable . The highlight was having ducks visiting on the veranda every morning .

Fantastic experience. 

We stayed in a Bulrush watersedge lodge (number 22). The lodge was absolutely spotless and nice and warm, hot tub was checked daily too. Cannot fault the lodge facilities at all, and it’s a gorgeous quiet location right on the lake. The ducks and swans came to greet us each morning and we found a local shop nearby (walking distance) and bought some peas and corn to feed them. We went out on the lake in a Pedalo which was great fun, and we had an evening meal at the on-site restaurant ‘Bert’s’- booked In advance, food and service was great. 
I also had a massage at the on site beauty parlour and that was fantastic.
All staff we met were very friendly and ready to help whenever needed- particularly the warden. 
Local village is lovely, we went to the Dacre Arms for dinner one night and it was really  nice. Thinking about booking our next visit already, would definitely recommend!

4 night relaxing break

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing 5 days break with our 2 children and dog. Everything was perfect. The lodge (number 17) was spotless, warm and cosy. The hot tub was lovely and hot and maintained everyday. The staff on reception were helpful and friendly. We also had a meal out at Bert’s one night and it was beautiful. My partner also proposed to me and the staff and cleaners were amazing to help him make this happen and make everything special. We can’t wait to return already. 5 days wasn’t long enough!

Perfect relaxing break

This is our 3rd time staying in one of the Shepherds Huts. As always, beautifully clean and relaxing. Equipped with everything you need for a lovely peaceful stay. Highly recommend this site, staff are lovely and very quick bringing more logs and fire lighters ect. Bert’s is perfect for a nice meal (although it does get busy so booking is a must!) and a nice walk into the village just over the road for pubs, fish and chips ect.

Shepherds Hut

We traveled with our two boys for a weekend break in the Bulrush Waters edge lodge. Everything was fantastic from check in. The lodge was beautiful, with the hot tub overlooking the lake a big win for the children. 
There is a great Italian restaurant on site which we ate in twice which was lovely and good value for money.
The Lodge itself was clean and beautifully presented. 
We will definitely be back!

Fantastic

My husband booked a shepards hut break for us as an anniversary present and it looked stunning from the photos. 
I like to be prepared before I go anywhere (OCD) but I couldn't find much online with what I'd need to take or if there'd be a toilet in the hut. So, for anyone else like me, there was a gorgeous bathroom with a toilet, VERY powerful roomy shower and a small sink. Everything you need is provided such as a towel, washing up liquid, soap, tea, coffee, sugar, 1 toilet roll etc. 
The accommodation is so beautiful and I didn't want to leave. The only thing I would change is perhaps having the option of a fly net on the double doors because we spent a lot of our time with the doors open but a lot of flies got in because of this and it was a nightmare trying to get them out come bedtime. 
The hot tub looks small but it is actually so roomy once you're in so don't let this put you off.
The setting is so peaceful and such a gorgeous view. Because the lodges are tuckes away in the top corner of the site, there is no passing tourists passing your lodge so you're in your own little world.
The restaurant was so tasty but book in advance because it gets busy - same as the beauty salon, that was booked solid for the next 2 months!
The foot golf was so much fun as we're the other activities we tried. 
The staff are all so friendly and they spoke to you like old friends. 
I would highly recommend this site to anyone wanting a peaceful, idyllic break in stunning surroundings. 
Oh, and you MUST try the ice cream, it's the best I've had! 
I can't wait to return.

Amazing, even better than expected

My partner and I stayed in the Kingfisher Shepherds hut for 5 nights. It was spotlessly clean and every detail had been thought of from umbrellas and torches to cleaning products and a pint of milk! We slept brilliantly the whole time and enjoyed how secluded the hot tub was. A lovely peaceful week away and we would definitely return and recommend.
