Our room was very comfortable. It’s a great location for walking. Joan and Nigel were very welcoming. We ate dinner there which has to be pre-booked and pre-chosen and it was well worth it. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. Breakfast was excellent also.

Great place to stay and eat

Visited in early July. It's in a lovely area with lots of scenic places to visit, such as the Trough of Bowland, Settle, Clitheroe. Joan and Nigel were very welcoming. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Meals are fantastic - Nigel is a brilliant chef.  Although the area is lovely and lots to see, the main draw for going back would be for the meals here.
Thoroughly recommend and we will hopefully book another stay in the not too distant future.

Wonderful meals.

We found the lodge very comfortable and enjoyed the breakfast.However we were expecting an evening meal but we were not informed that it was necessary to book this in advance. As a consequence it was necessary to drive to the nearest village to eat which was disappointing.

Excellent place very friendly hosts.They don't do bar snacks but one of our party was ill and Nigel made us sandwiched and the best chips ever.Very friendly and attentive

Best chips ever!

This was a return visit that was a long time coming. It was every bit as lovely as last time. Joan and Nigel were great hosts. The room was cosy and comfortable and the food, yet again, fantastic. We won't leave it so long 'til next time.



Wonderful return visit

Joan Nigel and Lucy are welcoming and friendly. The guest house is absolutely spotless throughout and Nigel is an amazing chef. 
Dinner needs to be pre-booked and not cheap…but worth every penny. Breakfast to die for. Several complaints in reviews about weight gain due to the tempting menus!!
It’s nice that Middle Floss isn’t modern: they’ve found a formula that works and have stuck with it. 
We will definitely visit and stay again: it’s a beautiful part of the world and very, very peaceful.
Thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Peaceful retreat and great food

We booked in advance as they were welcoming to cyclists and were able to store our bikes well overnight. We had a really pleasant stay. We had a wonderful evening meal. The menu gave many options and although a tad more expensive than we usually pay it was well worth it. I'd really recommend the three course meal with coffee and mints to finish in the lounge. A guest house with a lot of soul. Very glad to have visited. Was looked after on all fronts.

Fabulous stay, welcoming to cyclists

Stayed here for one night as we were climbing Ingleborough the next day. A great location, comfortable, clean and the breakfast really set us up for the day. Very friendly hosts. Will definitely use again.

Great location and great hotel

2nd July 21
As my brother was staying here for a close by family wedding at Stirk House 
We decided to join him for meal 
Having never heard of the establishment didn’t quite know what to expect 
Although a bit of the beaten track but well worth the effort 
We started with prawn cocktail for my wife while I had the soup ,both absolutely superb and we both had the corn fed chicken for the main course with my brother having the sirloin steak .All cooked to perfection
The chef is the hotel owner with his wife waiting on both local people who offer a genuine and real service ,which in many ways is so much more personal than a lot of the high end fancy restaurants 
Will definitely return

Out Of The World Meal

Great hosts! Very friendly and forthcoming! Great place to explore the southern Yorkshire Dales and the much more quiet but nonetheless impressive Forest of Bowland
