Lovely people, comfortable beds.  The continental breakfast was adequate but very basic.  However, therewas a fridge in every room with fruit juice, yogurts, milk, butter and water.
The problems were the run down state of the building and rooms.  Ours had a broken suitcase rail, a nonworking light over the mirror.  The toilet leaked at the back and had mould so had obviously been like it some time.  The chipboard furniture had bits pealing off and there was an ancient call/radio system between the beds.
Such a pity as the place could be a wonderful place to stay.

Sort of Marmite

no complaints at all.  It was a half way stop after 7 hours of driving from Scotland and it was perfect for that.
We were met promptly on arrival, friendly check in, and shown to our room and shown the breakfast bits.
We had an ideal room, as we had our puppy with us, and was close to the exit door to let him out for toilets. we could see our car from our room too. plenty of dog poo bags supplied but had to hunt around for a bin, found it eventually. Big car park. 
Very nice Italian restaurant next door which we made use of , excellent meal.
Our room was very, bright and  floral, and dated but it was clean and very comfortable bed, we did chuckle that it reminded us of 'Crossroads' from the 70's. the Bathroom suite was Apricot,  never seen anything like it before, however it was fully functional and did the job at a very reasonable price, so all in all, it was great for a cheap clean pitstop.
Breakfast supplies are help yourself at reception, toast, and cereals.
Orange juice and water in your fridge with milk. All very much well thought out.
Basic but clean. Quirky.

Good pit stop

This motel was so much more than expected. It had everything you could need for a stay. The little details for me the candle In the room and the milk in the fridge. The beds are so comfy, comfier than the big chained hotels! I absolutely loved the quirks of this and the vintage interior (please don’t change that) it makes it feel so unique. The staff at this motel was brilliant we could tell their hearts are in it. Thank you for a lovely stay and hope each person who stays feels the same as we did. Highly recommend this and the prices are insane! Let’s keep these lovely places going.

Trip Away

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel with our dog. Hotel was perfect for our stay. Bed linens and towels were spotless as was our room. Breakfast items on table in hallway were more than adequate, as was the items in room fridge. Much more than we expected. Price for dog was per stay and not per night. Italian restaurant next door was lovely as was food and service. The hosts were very friendly. Will certainly stay here again.

Brilliant stay,the welcome was so warm and shown to my room(not your normal there’s your key bye)fridge in the room with bottled water,fresh milk,yoghurts,juice and butter,there was fruit bowls,cereal and fresh bread laid out,the room was spacious and the bed and pillows were the comfiest I’ve ever had at a hotel,I’ll be staying again.

This is a clean & comfortable budget hotel in a convenient location near the M6. It would benefit from an update & refurbishment, especially the bathroom shower. Breakfast is a help yourself job to eat in the room, but adequate. The Italian restaurant next door (reviewed separately) is a bonus.

Pleasant, simple accommodation

We stayed for just one night and it was perfect for our needs. Nothing fancy, probably needs an update, but everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Help yourself breakfast out in the hallway for the morning with fresh milk, yoghurt and butter in the fridge in your room. Lovely Italian restaurant attached. The dog charge is per stay rather than per night, which is something I always think is far more fair. At £45, plus the dog charge, it was excellent value.

Bargain

Very clean, very comfortable beds, very helpful staff. Breakfast was help yourself, plenty of choice. Lovely Italian restaurant on site. Highly recommend, will definitely stay again if I’m in the area

Hunters lodge motel

We stayed here about four years ago and then over last weekend for a couple of nights and it has not changed much, except the breakfast room has gone and they now stock up breakfast in a corridor and supply a small fridge in each room. What a simple solution to Coved. We had cereals and toast, plus juice and tea / coffee in the room (real milk in the fridge) and a coffee machine in the entrance.
It's good to see a family run business still going with all the competition from the chains.
There is an Italian restaurant on site which looked good, but we (unfortunately) didn't get chance to use it this time, will do next time.
Yes, the Motel is a bit dated, but it is kept in a good clean condition and we are happy to recommend it.

Family run motel

Well at £45 for a night it was more than satisfactory, as this is a family run business it doesn’t have the backing of a large corporate machine which is both good and bad. 

The rooms were clean and the staff friendly and welcoming, the hotel itself was perhaps a little dated and a little rough round the edges but this didn’t detract from my stay here.

All in all it’s well worth a visit if you’re looking a good value hotel room with good transport links, 

Would certainly consider staying again when I’m next in the area,
