Like many of these reviewers,  we had not been to the Millstream for many years and remembered it as being rather pedestrian and old fashioned.    As we had to be in Bosham for one night we were a bit reluctant to book here,  but we are very pleased that we did.  We arrived fairly late after a taxing day and were welcomed warmly,  were very pleased with our attractive  and comfortable room,  delighted with the swift arrival of our club sandwiches and wine and grateful for an excellent night’s sleep.   The bathroom is so well thought out with great attention to detail,  including the pressure pad at the threshold that switches on a dim but good light when all is dark.   Daylight revealed the pretty garden in all its spring glory,  and breakfast was most enjoyable,  with friendly and efficient service.    Special mention of the juicy kipper! Full marks.

Surprisingly delightful stay

We stayed at this hotel this weekend after a gap of many years. We received a marketing offer and we made the booking on a whim.
The staff at this hotel are delightful, eager to please and helpful.
The welcome drink was a nice touch as was the water, lemon sherbets and apples to help oneself to if you fancied. 
The room was a high grade on and had been refurbished in the last month.
The electric  touch sensitive shower was great. The room fresh and comfortable. 
The Nespresso machine and the complimentary mini bar with fresh milk ( none of the UHT pods that so many hotels favour)
Orange juice, water, biscuit’s, cheese crisps and chocolate was very much appreciated.
The lady who cleaned our room took immense pride in her job and each day everything was replenished.
The Sea School restaurant had a varied and interesting menu and for a few days we had plenty of choice. The menu is seasonal and changes regularly. 
Brigetta was on hand at most meals and all the restaurant staff were superb.
Breakfast has a Buffett and all hot dishes are prepared fresh from ingredients of the highest quality. 
The hotel is a short walk to the sea and the chef supplies some of the local cafes with cakes, which are also to a high standard.
This hotel is a family run small business and the improvements are ongoing, they do not have a huge corporate machine behind them and there are some areas that will be updated soon- Especially the lounge which is a little dated.

However we had a wonderful few days and look forward to visiting in the summer. This hotel is only three and a half miles from Chichester and would be a perfect place after the Chichester festival.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful Sussex Village

We have just returned home after a nights stay at this wonderful hotel. 

From the moment we entered we were made to feel right at home by the friendly reception staff. 
Complimentary drinks served in the cosy lounge area and a quick and easy checkin. 
Within minutes we were in our room. We could not have wanted for more. A fridge full of goodies to eat and drink. A coffee maker and pods for that early shot of caffeine. 
The bathroom was very well equipped with a good selection of Molton  Brown toiletries. Slippers and dressing gowns added to that sense of luxury. 
We had a lovely view into the rear garden area which looked very well tended. The weather was poor so we stayed indoors in the warm. 
We had pre booked dinner in the main restaurant and were tended by were efficient and pleasant staff. All very helpful and friendly. The food was served very quickly and was beautifully presented. Again we had complimentary drinks prior to our meal (included in our offer) Coffee was served in the lounge, which was peaceful and very comfortable after our gorgeous meal. 
Would we go again? Yes, in the blink of an eye. Cannot find fault with anything. Wonderful location, wonderful staff and wonderful food! 
We will return when the weather is kinder and the daylight hours longer. Just so we can enjoy what the outdoors has to offer.

Peaceful wonderful location and friendly staff

The Millstream Hotel feels very much like Bosham itself to us - friendly, relaxing and always a nice place to be. Lovely staff, great location, a comfortable room and - best of all - really great food. The dinners served in the restaurant are excellent - great quality and choice. The hotel offers very good value for money - especially off season when the village is really at its best.  We really love it here.

A Very relaxing Stay

The hotel is a really relaxing place.  Because we had a dog we were in one of the two cottages which was very comfortable, warm and spacious.  The breakfast was the best we had ever experienced!  We did not eat dinner there.  However, we understood the hotel to be dog friendly (we were charged £10 per night) BUT we could not drink in the bar even though it had a wooden floor with the dog!  When we asked why,  we were told that most of the clientele were elderly and quite a few suffered with alergies!  We went to the Anchor Bleu for two nights for dinner and  the there food was very good and the atmosphere very friendly.

Very restful....

We stayed in this hotel on a bridge weekend. Sadly due to family illness we had to leave early. The care and consideration shown by the staff was exemplary. They were kind and very helpful. We only managed one night but that was very comfortable with many lovely touches in the room. Double aspect room which was light an airy.  Good selection of complementary teas and coffee. The food was delicious (evening meal and breakfast). My vegetarian meal was far better than many restaurants I have been to lately.
We hope to return later this year and will look forward to our stay. 

Short stay but very impressed!

We have stayed here quite a few times before, but the last time was more than 6 years ago. It was great to find the hotel as good as ever. We stayed for 3 nights in number 2 suite in the Waterside cottage, in the hotel grounds. This suite is very spacious and comfortable with separate bedroom and sitting room, while the bathroom is well laid out, with lots of shelf space. We ate in Marwicks Brasserie on two nights and the Sea School Restaurant the third night: the food was excellent, but our personal preference was the Brasserie, as we felt some of the more complex combinations of food in the Restaurant did not always work quite so well. Breakfasts were good. As always, the staff were friendly and helpful.

A favourite hotel - continues to be excellent

We spent a couple of nights at the Millstream recently and had a lovely stay. The room was comfortable and well appointed, but there was a little noise in the evenings as it was above the kitchen. What really stood out, however, was the service (Joao and Brigitta were particularly friendly) and the excellent food. At breakfast the avocado and feta on sourdough was perfect; dinner at Marwick's was a real treat as well. The hotel is close to the quay and the beautiful old church.

Comfortable stay with excellent food

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal at The Millstream on New Year's Eve. From scallops to beef, it was wonderful. Attractive presentatiion and comfortable, cosy ambience enhanced the experience. That level of dining quality is why people pay to go out for dinner.

What a charming hotel classic hotel….We stayed in one of the cottages….It was amazing, far better than many a 5 star hotel we have stayed in …… and then the food with 2 AA rosettes it was again amazing… the gardens were magnificent with a stream running through the garden past the cottage… we will definitely be back soon
