I stayed here four nights whilst on business on the island. The room was very cosy with plenty of plug sockets and tea/coffee making facilities and had access to its own secluded patio area.

The owners, Mary and Barry, are very friendly and accommodating hosts and will endeavour to do what they can to ensure you have a perfect stay.

The breakfast is cooked to order (you let Mary & Barry know what you want the night before). I tried most of the menu during my stay and everything was fantastic. The full English will keep you going all day. I had this twice at 8am and didn't need to eat again until dinner time around 6-7pm.

The property itself is a lovely converted church in a very quiet village. On road parking is available outside the property. An ironing board and iron were made available to me during my stay. There is a pub a couple of miles down the road which offers an extensive menu. There is a shop within walking distance. The night sky is beautiful as there is very little light pollution. Staying here is also a perfect location for visiting Blackgang Chine.

Perfect Hosts

My children and I stayed here during the summer holidays.  It exceeded our expectations.  We had a private suite containing 2 beautifully clean and tastefully decorated bedrooms and a private shower room.  The owners were lovely and really thoughtful, and couldn't have done more to accommodate us.  The reviews on here unfortunately aren't an accurate reflection of this property.  There weren't many reviews on here when we stayed so thought we were taking a little bit of a risk, but when we signed the Guest Book on our departure it was obvious that there have been loads of people staying at this property over a long period (save for when I think it was shut to decorate) and who have left the loveliest messages and it's a shame they're not online for all to see.  I'm wondering whether they were intentionally keeping this little treasure to themselves.....?!

Wow! What a find. This fabulous b&b is a converted Methodist church with many of its original features giving it a unique feel. We stayed in a very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated room with its own patio that lead onto a beautiful cottage style garden. There is no light pollution so on a clear night you can really appreciate the wonderful star studded sky. The hosts were 2 of the nicest people you could ever meet and were so helpful. Great breakfast! No doubt we will return.

A little gem in the heart of the Isle of Wight

A delightful B&B located in country side on Isle of Wight. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Room clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. Cooked breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. Only 3 rooms which helped make the stay extra special

Excellent B&B on IOW

After acquiring Gothic View in July 2017 new owners Mary and Barry saw out the summer season. In September they closed. Six months later they are ready for business! With redecorated bedrooms and new shower rooms they have breathed new life into a lovely old church. The gothic view official website should be up by the 6th of April according to the owners.
