Booked at last min this hotel for New Year’s Eve 2023
Can’t fault this affordable hotel . It was very clean ,lovely comfortable bed,hot shower,tea and coffee. We were room only that’s what we prefer but the owner Emma provides free snacks in the down stairs front room which I thought was a lovely touch. 
We were in room 10 and friends were in room 8 which was equally as nice as ours
But the most impressive thing was how warm the room was which at this time of year is needed. I’ve stayed in many hotels in Bridlington and paid more per night but often heating in the rooms is hit and miss so it was a pleasure 
The hotel is situated about 5 to 8 min walk from promenade on the south side. Streets are free parking in this area .
If you are looking a reasonable priced place to stay that’s very clean it’s ideal. I will certainly book again

Great affordable hotel

The South Dene we stayed was amazing the landlady very friendly the hotel very clean she couldnt do enough for us .It didnt advertise breakfast but there was all the cereal you wanted can drinks sweets and crisp in  the living room to  help yourself. In rooms was tea coffee  Very clean bed ding and towels very close to amentiers. Close to Marina and centre. Would defoe recommend and will be visiting again

As we arrived we were met by Emma who was lovely she explained everything and showed us to our room 
Our room was basic with clean fresh bedding 
The toilet and shower were also clean 
Whilst we know that the hotel needs some renovations it is still a nice place to stay 


Lovely stay at south dene hotel

The owner has so put so much effort into making the accom nice. Lovely gesture of cereals and snacks on a morning and evening. 
It is what it says on the tin. A cheap clean stay. Would stay here again. 

Nice, clean and cheap 

Good clean guest house  and it will be even better when it's all sorted  and breakfast back on  there is some work going on behind  closed doors but you would not know . The photo of our room should be changed as we was pleasantly surprised  as the photo  is not up to date and the  room is now a big improvement to photo   if I had to complain it would be no too request some coat hangers  on the  Side wall  to hang over coats  and long frocks etc  that was our only gripe    ether  way we will going  back soon

We arrived early and the room was ready so we checked  in early. Nice clean room and bathroom with complementary drinks and snacks an offer in the dining room. Location is excellent it’s very close to The Spa. Would definitely stay here again

We booked this hotel for 2 nights on arrival we was met by Emma , who took the remaining payment for our 2 nights stay , The downstairs very dated and dirty with an horrific smell , we was shown to our family room which was no better mould above the windows scruffy curtains hanging off the pole, again a smell in the room, tattered carpets .dirty smelling bedding. We complained to Emma and she reluctantly gave us our money saying we have lost her business, a few hours later we received a sarcastic irresponsible text off her about our adult daughter shouldn't be smoking with being asthmatic, we'll Emma our daughter does not have asthma at all we was Trying to be polite by not saying your place is absolutely disgusting and should be closed down , why the room we was given was not on your website is very misleading we honestly don't know where your photos are from because this is most definitely not t a true representation of your accommodation, if anyone is thinking of staying at this property pay on arrival so you can see the state of this accommodation yourselves

Warmly welcomed by John, carried my case to my room on first floor and told me if I needed anything, to just give him a shout.
Very clean room with clean linen and towels. Kettle, mug with tea and coffee, milk and sugar. Very comfortable bed as slept like a log both nights. En-suite shower and loo. Due to the small en-suite, the hand basin is in the room under the window. There is a good sized mirror to the right of the sink, which makes it awkward as have to lean and twist to use mirror. 
Close to the Spa. Due to COVID there are no breakfasts yet, as John is sole host so understandable. Shall book again very soon. Great stay.

Comfy clean stay

We stayed here for 2nights. It was great! Comfortable clean room, lovely welcoming staff and 2min walk to the beach what more could you ask for! Will deffo stay here again and would deffo recommend!!!

Great stay!

Stayed here for a few days with the family the manager is the best thing about this place very helpful can’t do enough to help but the rooms need redecorating , needs a lot of money spending on it to get it up to scratch… if your thinking of booking dont waste your money.  One man trying to manage this place single handed he deserves a medal big time …
