Absolutely delightful B&B in a beautiful setting. A truly welcoming place where nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are stunning and a much needed sleep on route walking Hadrian’s Wall. Best nights sleep. Both dinner and breakfast was fantastic. I can not recommend this place highly enough! 

Absolutely stunning

A very good B&B along Hadrian's Wall, and as of this writing the closest B&B to Lanercost Priory (a .7-mile stroll).  Three rooms (spacious, en-suite).  This is a working farm, so there will be sheep!  Deborah, the proprietor, does most of her business through walking companies, and the B&B has no website, but it's not hard to Google her contact info.  Actually the best pleasure was Deborah herself, a wonderful, solicitous host.  And she will also cook your evening meals, by prior arrangement (for a modest extra charge).

Very good stop on Hadrian's Wall

This was our first stop on our Hadrian's Wall walk. The location is beautiful and not that far off the path. Deborah was very welcoming and friendly. Her home is beautiful and so clean. Our room was very clean, nicely furnished with a very comfy bed. The bathroom is very well done and huge! Large tub in the middle of the bathroom with a hand held shower, so nice! Beautiful views out of the bedroom and bathroom windows. 
 Dinner was excellent and portions were HUGE! She had a variety of beers and wine to choose from. Breakfast was great, varied selection with hot and cold choices.
 Deborah was so pleasant and helpful. Amazingly, she does all this with just the help of her daughter and keeps a cheerful smile and lovely attitude. 

Such a great stay!

Fantastic stay! I stayed here one night whilst walking the Hadrians Wall. Deborah, the host was very welcoming and accomdating.
The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable.
Breakfast was plentiful and certainly set you up for the days walk.
Highly recommended!

Great place to stay.

The best place I stayed in on my Hadrian's Wall walk, and I did stay in some lovely places. This, however, was exceptional. It's a beautiful, substantial farmhouse set in lovely grounds beside a river. High-ceilinged and tastefully decorated, every room is gorgeous without being crass or overdone. There's nowhere local for an evening meal so the owner – who was simply fabulous – will cook for you by prior arrangement. I'd been initially skeptical about this, but it was magnificent. As was breakfast! A brilliant place to stay.

The Best Along Hadrian's Wall Path

As this was our fourth visit to Lanercost it is becoming harder to review. Deborah is just the best and the house is so homely you just don't want to leave. 
Wishing you all good things for 2023 Deborah and looking forward to no 5.

Too good to be true.

Deborah met us with a warm welcome after a wet long hard walk and dried our boots and clothes and prepared us delicious food for dinner. The house was tastefully decorated and friendly atmosphere with comfortable beds and a free standing bath was a joy with lots of hot water and soothing bath salts. The breakfast and pack lunches were high quality too. We highly recommend this quiet comfortable place to stay

Lovely place to stay

What a beautiful location, bedrooms, lounge and dining room fitted out to a very high standard.  Evening meal was such good value for money we suggested that Deborah should put up her prices to reflect the quality of her cooking.  Views from bedroom stunning. On leaving we were given back our walking boots which had been dried and warmed for us - bliss

Warm welcome to 2 very wet walkers

We stayed here whilst walking Hadrians Wall and it was the most wonderful rest stop. It had been raining all day and we were grumpy and tired when we arrived. The owner was really welcoming right off the bat, she let us dry off our boots and led us straight to our room so we could relax. The room was beautifully appointed, huge windows overlooking green fields and really cosy and warm. The bathroom had a massive standalone bath, which was a godsend for aching legs. She made us a homemade lasagne for dinner which was absolutely delicious (I wish I could have it again). We also paid for lunch the next day and she gave us a great selection to choose from (I recommend the camenbert and sweet chilli jam sandwich) and told us to help ourselves to any snacks to take too. It was our favourite stop out of the 7 nights walking the wall and I'm hoping one day to go back. The owner should be really proud of this establishment.

Quintessential English country house

The house is lovely and impeccably kept.  It’s an oasis right off of Hadrian’s Way.  Deborah is a wonderful host and a downright gourmet cook!  Our dinner wouldn’t have been out of place in a high-end restaurant, and breakfast and packed lunch were also delicious.  As others have said, I hope I’ll get the chance to come back and stay a little longer!
