Amanruya Bodrum Hotel surpassed all our expectations with its exceptional service, tranquil ambiance, and exclusive atmosphere. During our delightful three-night stay, we were impressed by every aspect of the hotel, from the attentive staff to the delectable breakfast offerings. The spa and welness center, a haven of tranquility, provided a rejuvenating experience that left us feeling pampered and relaxed. The privacy afforded by the hotel was truly unparalleled.

The food at Amanruya was a highlight for us  thank you to the talented chefs for always catering to our allergy needs and creating the most special birthday cake for our friend. 

The attention to detail from Amanruya and its staff was outstanding

So beautiful. The resort was gorgeous. The only negative to this place was sometimes I had to go and find a server. They could increase their level of service. But, would 💯 recommend it. The pool was amazing and the rooms were also great. If they increase their service, it would have been outstanding.

Beautiful property as you would expect from the Aman.

Here’s what they did well. 
Absolutely delicious breakfast with the most perfect portion Sizes. My tofu scramble with some grilled tomatoes and fresh cucumber tomatoes on the side as I asked were perfect 

Staff and friendly the woman who helped us in the mornings, was absolutely spectacular and I am so sorry I don’t have her name anymore. 

It was a very chill environment. You could be very private, or you might possibly have a nice conversation with somebody. But people pretty much come there to chill out and stay on their own. 

I like how they did the nightly gift with a little information about the culture. This is something typical at high-end resorts, of course. 

When they knew I wanted oat milk, and so far, they made sure my room had plenty of it. The chocolate dessert with nuts, and fruit that they handmade was delicious. They knew we like figs, so we always had plenty of figs in the room. 

The beach was calm 

My only issue was that the beach restaurant closed early because someone had like a engagement or some kind of event and no one told us. So we were told to leave pretty quickly and we had just wanted to come down and order a pizza from the pizza oven since we had been traveling and did not want to do a full big dinner. 

We couldn’t even stay up in one of the areas to the side. They should’ve told us when we checked in, or even even before we arrived. 

The Asian restaurant was very good and they aim to serve me as a vegan, but I wish I had had a little more insight because they created way more food than I needed and of course then the bill was higher than I would have. It was fine. Some of the dishes were great and I would’ve passed on. Had I been told about it. I love how they were like we were going to create some special. They certainly did.

If you’re looking for quiet and a secluded retreat, this is the place. Be sure to check the pool temperature you might want it turned up or turned down depending upon what you like. We’d like it warm so they turned it up.

I think this is a good Aman
 it’s not the best, but it is a very good one.

They look to employ local people , and so some of them who are working at the beach like Cleaning at the beach may not have much English but it’s great that they employ older people and people that are local. Keep this in mind.

This is a wonderful resort with individual villas with private pools spread out over a fantastic property. The villas are large and nicely furnished and the large heated pools and private gardens are sensational. The food and service are very good.  The beach club area is also very nice.

When traveling abroad I typically stay at FourSeasons, Rixos, or Ritz Carlton (when available); I feel that I have high expectations as a base line. 

A friend of mine insisted that my wife and I try out Aman hotel brands, and our honeymoon in Turkey was the perfect excuse to stay at AmanRuya. We have been “wowed,” AmanRuya provides exceptional Staff, Housekeeping, and suites. We will be back! 

It is difficult to express how superior the staff at AmanRuya is, they are operating on a level of coordination that I have never seen. For example, every single staff member at the resort naturally knew our name and room number, from the towel boys to the head of staff. Beyond this, they somehow always knew where we were or where we were headed. Every single staff member was exceptional.

The housekeepers are magical. Every time we stepped out of our room we returned to a fresh room with bespoke touches based on observed preferences.
- They noticed we enjoyed swimming in the ocean, so they turned our pool heat on (with out us asking) and left us towels for swimming in our room. This occurred just based on their team seeing that we liked to swim.
- They noticed that I drink a lot of water at meals, so they gradually stocked our room with more and more water, up to 14 bottles of water every morning!
- When leaving the hotel the housekeeping came and tagged our checked baggage for us. I have never seen anything like this attention to detail.

The Suites are designed with an incredible attention to detail. Everything from the synchronized dimmer switch, the private pool, the private day bed, to the complementary speakers and bags… they have thought of all possible wants.

I must say that the staff at this location is truly remarkable. Their level of service is simply outstanding and they always go above and beyond to ensure that guests have an exceptional experience. Additionally, the location itself is superb- it’s situated in a prime spot that’s easily accessible and offers a great view. The stylish decor also adds to the overall experience and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful and memorable stay.

The Amanruya is a luxury hotel that looks out over the Aegean where the resort's elegant stone and terracotta pavilions are connected by cobblestone walkways. The perks of the property include a glittering hillside infinity pool, a dainty Aman spa, a yoga studio, a three-story library tower, restaurant, the Amanruya Beach  Club and guest pavilions with gardens, a pool and a pergola.

I was delighted with my Pool Pavilion with great living area accompanied by a dining cove. A beautiful 4-post bed with curtains that could be drawn all the way around provided such a secretive slumber. The spacious interior reflected Turkish architecture graced by concrete and terrazzo arches. The marbleized  bathroom was ever bit as nice as the rest of the room with double sink, a soaking tub and an enormous rain shower.

Amanruya has one main dining restaurant where you can dine on a fusion of Mediterranean and Greek cuisine. My Beef Carpaccio, Seafood Linguini and Baklava were delicious.

So, if you looking for a discreet resort, steeped in Turkish architecture..........then try the ...........Amanruya.......A Luxe Ladened Retreat.

 A Luxe Ladened Retreat.

This was our third Aman, so we had high expectations, and we’ve been to Six Senses Kaplankaya nearby, which we loved! Unfortunately, we left Amanruya feeling a lot more sceptical about the Aman brand. The rooms and the pool are lovely- this is about where the pros end.

The main issue was the service. Other than the restaurant staff, who we liked a lot (Oyo and others), most of the time the staff were invisible (and not in a good way.) We sat by the pool and ‘pool bar’ for hours each day without seeing a single member of staff, and if we needed a drink or something to eat, we had to wander around the property (at one point going into the kitchen) to find somebody. Front desk/ ‘concierge’ and the welcome were cold and unfriendly. There is no dedicated What’s App to link you to staff, like at most other luxury brand hotels. 

The Beach Club is no better. It has no sand and no restaurant, just a dodgy looking construction site (they are building a restaurant), dirty towels left all over the place, an outhouse for a bathroom (seriously), and a ‘barbeque’. A kebab and a piece of cheese was not what I was expecting for my first meal at Amanruya!  

The property is too big. It’s sprawling, the layout is confusing, and they make poor use of space. A property this enormous should have more than one restaurant, a big gym with new equipment (not 25yo treadmills), and a proper spa. Because of the lack of visible staff, at times the place felt eerily abandoned.

The location is also a bit odd- it’s in a very busy bay, so you can hear noise from construction sites, the motorway, and see billboards. 

Finally, an Aperol Spritz inexplicably costs €44, which suggests at least one person in the GM’s office has lost their mind.

If you’re picking between Six Senses Kaplankaya and here- choose Six Senses.

Poor service, doesn’t reflect quality of other Amans (and a €44 Aperol Spritz)

On June 4th, 2025, we visited Amanruya Restaurant as a party of four to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday—a very special occasion for our family. Unfortunately, the experience we had can only be described as disastrous.

Shortly after being seated, we were overwhelmed by a severe insect infestation. While we tried to fend off the swarms of bugs, we also sought assistance from the staff. The server responsible for our table informed us that we were not the first to experience this issue and that all guests had been facing the same problem. This statement clearly indicated that the management was aware of the situation but chose not to inform guests at the time of reservation.

It is only natural for guests to expect a flawless dining experience—especially when paying a considerable amount at a globally renowned brand like Aman. This is even more true when the occasion is as significant as a milestone birthday. Instead, we found ourselves battling insects that were getting into our clothes, completely ruining both our comfort and any enjoyment of the evening.

When we inquired about pest control, we received inconsistent responses—first being told that spraying was insufficient, then being told that the issue was due to the restaurant’s forested location. The shifting explanations made it clear we were being brushed off.

Although we had come to enjoy an elegant evening by the poolside, we were eventually forced to move indoors due to the unbearable conditions. This marked our third table change of the night.

While we were discussing our frustration among ourselves, the Food & Beverage Manager approached our table and, in an astonishingly unprofessional and rude tone, told us, “If you’d like, you can leave.” At that point, the evening was entirely ruined.

Coming from a family with seven generations of experience in the hospitality industry, and as someone who has always upheld the value of customer satisfaction and professionalism, I have never encountered such discourteous treatment. Such behavior is completely at odds with the Aman brand. That a senior staff member, presumably over the age of 40, would take guest feedback personally and respond with passive-aggressive remarks reflects a deep failure in training and leadership. Rather than protecting the brand’s reputation, such individuals damage it.

By the time it was past 9 PM, given the location’s remoteness, we had no alternative but to finish our meal there. However, due to the upsetting experience, we chose not to cut the birthday cake and simply requested it be brought out with the bill. At no point did anyone apologize, nor was any gesture made to rectify the situation.

Just before we were about to leave, the Assistant F&B Manager came over and spoke to us for nearly 15 minutes—yet still failed to offer a single apology. Instead, he explained that the F&B Manager had taken our private conversation personally and had therefore told us we could leave. It goes without saying that, in the hospitality industry, especially at a managerial level, there is no place for emotional reactions to guest complaints. If this person is not the owner of the restaurant, his reaction was unwarranted; and if he were the owner, he wouldn’t have said such a thing in the first place

In the end, neither he nor his assistant showed any willingness to apologize or make amends in any form.

What may have been just another evening for your team was, for us, an incredibly important and irreplaceable occasion. Sadly, it was completely ruined.

For all these reasons, I would like to express that the experience we had fell drastically below the standards one would expect from a world-class brand like Aman. I strongly urge a serious review of this incident in terms of both personnel and guest relations, and I trust that appropriate action will be taken to ensure such treatment is never repeated.
