Armas Belek Hotel

In general I can recommend this place. The room was quite basic, but the nature is amazing, the beach is HUGE, the sea is wonderful. We chose this hotel because the sea entry is safe for children: it’s not deep. I really hope that that those who are in charge read reviews here, so I would like to make some comments. 1. There was no shelf in the shower. There was a dispenser with a shower gel, so I guess it was designed by a man. But women need more! I need my shampoo, my hair gel, my face cleanser and so on and so far. And there was no place to put all these inside the shower, so each time I needed to open the door to take the next item. 2. ECOLOGY awareness. It was awfully sad to see LOTS of meaningless plastic there every day. Plastic straws in individual plastic bags? Seriously? They are in the restaurant, they are in the beach bar! And of course drunk people do not care that wind takes this plastic to the sea even before these people blink. The same about plastic plates in ‘patisserie’ — they can be easily replaced with normal plates or paper ones (real paper plates without plastic layer). There are plastic cups, plastic bottles, .. And I could find only one container for recycling plastic: it was in the restaurant which is often closed. And I needed to translate from Turkish to understand which container is for paper and which is for plastic. You make money because of the amazing nature that you have, so please care about this nature and do not give people needless trash. 3. And the last comment about people who work there. I believe that employees create the atmosphere for the guests. It was strange for me that no one said “good morning” in the restaurant. I tried to greet waiters, they seemed to be shy, may be their English wasn’t good, but who cares. On the third day they started smiling back —- that was a breakthrough! I do not speak Greek, but after holidays there I know how to say good morning and good evening in Greek. I would love to learn the same in Turkish or to exchange greetings in English — I believe that atmosphere would become much friendlier. And I can’t not mention one lady from the patisserie on the beach who was hiding chocolate ice cream from children. How is that even possible! Children were coming there and asking for chocolate ice cream, but she replied that it finished. So I had to go there with my child, and then suddenly she could find chocolate ice cream hidden under popsickles. And that was repeated each time when she was there: she was giving it only to adults. But that was an exception. There’re lots of kind hardworking people, who do a lot of work every day. I’m glad they have their jobs again after pandemic.
