Kokotel Khao Lak Lighthouse

We loved our 10 night stay at the Kokotel (as it is now known) the hotel is right on the beach with rooms overlooking the sea - we chose pool view we chose a pool view room as out most of the day and it was great - really comfortable beds, good quiet air con, nice bathroom, big tv, good size balcony. The rooms have an ‘on trend’ industrial theme (exposed metal trunking for lights etc) and are serviced daily to a high standard. The staff are excellent, polite, attentive, talkative always smiling and you get the impression they like working here and want you to enjoy your holiday experience. Breakfast is served by the sea front at ‘coconuts’ the beach side bar restaurant which was a good selection of Thai and European cuisine. Staff at Coconuts give the same service level as hotel, excellent. There is also a very popular massage studio opposite the restaurant which sometimes needs to be booked an hour or two in advance. I would recommend the hotel as a great base for beach walkers and sun lovers, the town is 5-6 mins walk away and activities such as bamboo rafting, elephant feeding/bathing, boat trips, turtle breeding program, Bang Nang market etc are all only a short journey away. There is a small restaurants just outside called the ‘Cafe O’ which is always full the food is so good, but there are many choices of restaurants within a short walk. Summary- great location / great staff / lovely well run hotel
