Place is really perfect and I couldn't complain about anything. The only thing is the social aspect, definitely not the best place for a solo traveler. The vibe is just not there and everyone is kinda doing their own thing.

Great, but not for the solo traveler

Bodega has such an amazing vibe. The place to go if you're looking to socialize and meet new people! Close to anywhere you'll need to go in Chiang Mai. Great to relax by the pool during the day and then to head over to the other location to party at night! From the pub crawl to the awesome pool parties there is always something going on! Shout out to the  Manager Steve and the reps, Finn, Harry Alex and Angel for making it a fun time and keeping the party going!

A Fun Place For Fun People!

Great party hostel. Make sure you go there on a pub crawl night. Shout out to Ben Doverson and the incredible staff there that made it a fun night for us!Facilities are pretty standard for a party hostel. Nice location.

The place is nice and calm during the day, but got noisy during the evening. It's not the people's fault but the walls and windows are too thin. The beds are made of metal while the buildings are nice looking wood.You hear when people are walking on the wooden floor in the building, when they are twisting and moving around in their beds and even some whisper or snoring in the next room. I'm not a light sleeper but I would recommend bringing ear plugs. Otherwise great hostel.

I can easily say that this is a true definition of "best value".  Yes, it is a very simple place, nothing fancy, however, what you get for what you pay is excellent.

Super clean, spacious rooms, private balcony, excellent location, friendly staff, fast and consistent wifi, AC, hot water.  And at an extremely great price.  I will for sure stay here again if needed.

Best Value for Money EVER

A nicely small hotel just in old town, very well located, 15€ a day, hot water and really nice room.... service is good, just a bit hard to find as is just over the Main Street. Highly recommended if you coming this way....

Overnight stay here. 

Bit of a ramshackle reception area in an adjacent building (was to a cafe? I'm not sure). 

After checking in and paying, I was told the wifi wasn't working but would be working later - they were still messing about with it when I checked out the following day, so it never worked. 

Room was in a rather soulless 3-storey building, but it was clean and comfortable, so overall I was happy for $20.

Soulless but clean and comfortable

I choose this hotel because it is within my budget and secondly of its location. We arrived early morning and a guy welcome us with a shy and big smile. Our room is available and we can go into our room even we arrived early morning.

The room is kind of big and with balcony, refrigerator, tv and wifi available. The toilet is not big but very clean. 

The location of the hotel is near to the old city gate. There is bank, ATM machine and money changer next to the hotel, a few more steps will have restaurants and travel agents. Weekend night market is within 10 minutes walk and there are two beautiful Thai Buddhist temple just few steps away, and of course 7-11. So the location is great!

What I like the most of the nice and friendly people working in the hotel. they always put on smile on the face and trying their best to help us whenever possible like giving direction or suggesting the good place to visit and the good place to eat and so on. We stay 5 nights here and there is 1 night where we travel to Sukhothai and we didn't book the rooms, but the guy allow us to put our luggage in the rooms without charging us.

There is washing machine available where you just need to put in coins to get the washing service. There is no lift or escalator in the hotel so it is good to choose the rooms at level 2 if you are having heavy luggage.

I would definitely go back to this hotel during my next trip to Chiang Mai.

Very nice and friendly place to stay

I booked this room based on its location close to the Thapae gate but outside the old city, and the price on a hotel booking site, which sold it as a special deal. There wasn't really any reviews so it was a bit of a chance so I only booked 3 nights instead of the 6 I would be staying in Chiang Mai. I really wish I had booked all 6 here.
The location was ideal for us close to the city but also within walking distance of the river and night Bazaar area, The small 3 storey building is tucked away just back from the main street next to a bank, which means at night there are no noisy neighbours.
The room was spacious very clean with quiet air conditioning and a large fridge. the bathroom was clean, modern with a good hot shower. There was a TV and complimentary bottled water renewed each day, shampoo and shower gel  also provided. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, although the curtains were a bit small for the large patio window that lead to the nice small balcony. The room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided, the staff were friendly and are based in the small coffee shop next to the guest house.
If your looking for an atmospheric, charming hotel this place isn't for you, but if you want clean, functional and a good location at a fair price then its ideal.   
I would definitely stay here again.
