Not sure if it is a cultural thing but this wasn't my idea of how a hotel should be run. We paid US$65 per night on the getaroom website and so expected a good experience.

Firstly, it is hard to find - no sign, just a door with a "Welcome" sign but no indication it is a hotel. After banging several times on the door eventually the manager came to the door. She speaks virtually zero english but we managed some communication through the phone interpreter she used.

The room is cluttered with all sorts of odd looking decorations with no theme at all. It looked like they had gone to a garage sale and just bought anything and everything and chucked it in the room.

We got just two towels - no hand towel or bath mat - and these were not changed during our two day stay. Neither was the room cleaned.

The shower involved turning on the hot water above your head and sitting in the bath with a hand held shower head as it was too short to stand up.

We asked for 9:00 breakfast. at 9:30 she hadn't arrived so we knocked on her door and then she quickly went and bought us something. We got red rice wrapped around minced veggies, some weird bread and soy milk coffee frunk through a straw. The next day we got a chicken and lettuce roll and a corn cob with the soy coffee again.

It is on a main road so the room is quite noisy but thankfully there is not much noise after 10PM.

On the plus side they do provide filtered drinking water.

The area is nice enough but everything seems to close down by 6:30 PM and it can be hard to find food after this time.

Overall for the price charged we found it to be poor value and I would look for other options.
