Stayed here fir 2 nights and love the place given the ambience and location. Drove here and parked at a temple near by at TWD300 per day (overnight parking) 

Inn is well equipped with amenities and very clean. Breakfast is decent with mainly Chinese porridge and some bread (no toast machine) accompanied with coffee, tea and orange juice 

Would be great if there is a dryer machine on top of the existing washing machine.

The Inn is charming located with a good view of the sea and mountain.  The place is well kept and clean.  Breakfast is simple and nice and dining area is cosy. Getting there is challenging because of uphill climb and steps.  Better to travel light.The place is not manned after 8pm and arrangement needed for late check in.  Staff are friendly and helpful.

The place is plagued by such home stays, it is not a hotel. from location to facility, im sure this is not among the better ones. you have to carry your luggage all the way up (about 200 steep staircase steps, if you take bus to the entrance of 九份老街）Be prepared to be the only one staying here if you travel during low season. room condition is quite clean but no facilities to talk about. the TV is a CRT one, so leave you to imagine the rest. the pantry is huge and nice, strong wifi signals and has a beautiful view. Breakfast will be manually provided by the host, as in he buys it from outside and keeps it in a Styrofoam box. we had local buns and soya milk, with a banana.

I like the location and the design of the house that we stayed. The upstairs of coffee bar very nice because can see the beautiful night view of Jiu Fen. I like it so much!!! Although the room and toilet is smaller but overall is ok.

Good location for Jiu Fen old street and night view

The location couldn't be better, near the top of the town with great views over a local temple, Keelung Mountain, and out to sea. Free pickup at Ruifang train station was very helpful and the family that runs this place was quite sweet. Breakfast congee was fortifying. The negatives were that the room was a bit cramped and the bed — even by Asian and Eastern European standards — was ridiculously hard. When we asked for padding we were offered a thin quilt which barely improved the situation. It being spring when we visited, there were a fair number of ants in our room and bathroom as well. AC was strong and the view might make this a place to consider, but don't expect maximum comfort. We suspect there may be better deals around town.

No frills B&B with a great location

Great location to discover Jiufen from the top. Nice view from the window. They have free transfer from Ruifang station which takes around 15 mins to 30 mins depending on the traffic. They will charge you a reasonable 250TWD for the tranfer back to Ruifang station
The room was cozy with solid beds. However, blankets were a little bit heavy. Room rate was a bit higher at weekend
Breakfast was tasty with eggs, tofu, nice bamboo

A basic B&B with great location - Nice and friendly staff

I read so many excellent comments but I was disappointed. The only very good thing was the FREE transfer from the railway station to the B and B. The location was good too. But the bed was terribly hard, I couldn't sleep because all my body was aching (and I'm used to a quite hard bed). We even didn't have a bedside lamp, so we had to get up from the bed to switch off the light because there was no plug near the bed as well. The view from the window was on the neighbor's wall. I mean, for 2000 TWD, I think we could have a little bit more of comfort. It's not super cheap. The towel was also tiny. We had a much better room in a small hotel in Taipei for cheaper.

Disappointed

All in all I highly recommend the Long-Men-Ke-Zhan B&B for the following reasons:
1.	Reasonable rates
2.	Comfortable rooms
3.	Excellent location with beautiful views day and night and in a close vicinity to the famous “old street” (5min walk)
4.	Accommodating staff
5.	Yum-yum Taiwanese homely breakfast
6.	Many more hidden treasures to explore by yourselves

It was a family/friend outing (2 Taiwanese/1 Chinese/1 Italian) to Jiufen in early July and we stayed one night (2 rooms).  The staff, Mr. Lyu, spared us the troubles of commuting and picked us up from Ruifang train station directly. Mr. Lyu then explained to us the local scenic sites and attractions in great detail and ensured all our questions/concerns were addressed.  We chartered a taxi in the afternoon and toured numerous local attractions (Jinguashi, Golden Waterfalls, museums, scenic sites by the coastal highway such as The 13 Layers Ruins, Houton cat village, etc.) based on the staff’s recommendations and it was a hoot and a half!  

At night, we brought back lots of local delicacies (Taiwan fried chicken鹹酥雞; deep-fried squids炸魷魚) from Ruifang night market, along with several bottles of Taiwan Beer and drinks from local tea-shops and the famous chain convenient stores, 7-11 (Taiwan Beer is the best!). The staff joined us for some chitchat and we had a great time.  Juifen old street closed early (~7:30pm) but it did not stop us from having fun at LongMen B&B.

The next morning we were even more pleasingly surprised by the delicious breakfast and Espresso the lady staff (boss lady!) meticulously prepared.  We left the dining room with our bellies full and enjoyed some chitchats with other lodgers (mostly families from mainland China).

The staff dropped us off at the Taoyuan international airport for reasonable price (transportation arrangement needed in advance with the staff) and I am pretty sure I’ll be back whenever I can and will not even hesitate a second to choose again the LongMen B&B to get our grooves on!
