We were very pleased to see this 19th century founded hotel, with generous proportions, splandid view, and central situation. Manager told us that the whole will be restaured in 2018, and contemporary à côtés (sauna... ) will be installed. Don't wait to visit this place. 

A **** with cachet at Guesthouse price 

The hotel looks very nice from a distance but has seen better times and is currently struggling to find investors for a major makeover. In the meantime it offers basic, good value accommodation for uncomplicated guests, groups and families who do not mind having no reception or any other facilities except a clean room. WiFi provided.

Check-in chaos

We stayed for one night here, and had a room with shared bathroom. The location of the place is really great, however the rooms are rather simple and "spartan". Nevertheless everything is clean, just you have a feeling of traveling back the time by 30-40 years.

The breakfast choice is limited, but acceptable. Wifi is working even on upper floors to certain extent.

Watch for the elevator, it's really unique as it does not have any door :), so for kids it can be dangerous

Kind of time travel

Starting has a hotel in the early 20th century, the Hotel du Cervin was used as a winter and summer camp for school classes from all over Europe. Since a few months it is a hotel and guesthouse again, perfectly located 10min on foot from the cable car starting in Saint-Luc.
Two young man are in charge of the hotel and provide a friendly welcome. The rooms (with elevator) have a nice view on the valley and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was nice in the large dinning room with a choice of 2 sorts of bread, jam, cheese, ham, corn-flakes, fruits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There is a TV room with free internet access on the first floor and a ping-pong table for the rainy day.
We were not expecting much and we got a bed and a breakfast. The experience could be improved by a feminine touch, for example they could provide soap dispensers in the shared showers (usually I don't bring my shower gel and shampoo in a hotel), a place to hang the wet towels in the room and a larger closet. The shared bathrooms are clean, but could be renovated.
Since they are targeting families and young people the mix is sometimes not compatible. During our stay he hotel was full with a group of mountain bikers who shouted in front of the hotel until 2am, which made it difficult for a family to sleep. But maybe you will be luckier and will enjoy the quiet mountains.

Back to summer camp

Incredible views and friendly staff.....however the beds break all the time and the bathrooms were pretty disgusting... I had to spend a night and a half sleeping on the floor as the bed kept breaking. The receptionist said this happened all the time, but because they were renovating soon they didn't want to mend or replace them. That is fair enough, however a very basic requirement of a hotel is to be able to sleep on a bed.... or so I thought...
