Please notice that the reception closes already at 4 pm, even though the reservation email said that check-in is from 3 pm to 12 pm. So in reality the check-in is possible at the reception from 3 pm to 4 pm. If you come later, make sure that you get a separate email with the instructions to pick up the key - for some reaso  we didn't receive it, and it was quite a trouble to try to get in to our room at 6 pm, as the phone number provided on the reservation confirmation didn't pick up after 4 pm. We also tried to call and message the number provided before our trip, but they didn't reach back to our text message or voice mail - why have a possibility to leave a voice mail if they're not checked? We couldn't find an email address to contact them either.The walls are exceptionally thin, so if you're sensitive to noise, this is not the hostel for you.We didn't realize that also bed sheets must be reserved before hand, maybe there were instructions for that in the email we never received. In our case we had to sleep the first night without bed sheets, because the reception was closed when we arrived at 6 pm.  Otherwise the place was ok and an affordale option to stay in Visby.

Make sure you get the separate information email!

For what you pay you get a lot of comfort, the possibility to cook your own food and your are near to everything. I had a great staying and the personell is professional. The vegan friendly breakfast is totally worth the extra 130kr. 

Perfect!

Overall, the stay here is great! Actually, it was the second time for me cuz the previous stay was nice and I thought I wanted to come back here. The location is so nice! Close to the big square and is located on the main shopping street of Visby. Close to the supermarkets and good restaurants as well.The room was comfortable and could enjoy the view of Visby shopping street from the window. Also, there was a cozy kitchen which had almost all the basic kitchen goods that we usually used.However, there was one thing that needed to be fixed and better.That is wifi connection. In the room, we could use wifi, but the speed of it was quite slow, which annoyed us a bit.

Good place to stay

We simply needed a clean place to sleep for 2 nights. You shouldn't be staying here if you want any perks or extras. It is a simple, clean, and safe place to rest between your adventures in Gotland. As long as those are your expectations - this place is perfect. And the breakfast(Frukost) in the sister hotel is scrumptious!

Considering that it is a hostel, it was fairly okay. Clean and adequate for a family that needs somewhere to sleep while in Visby. The beds were okay, main bed a bit soft while the extra beds were hard. The breakfast at the sister hotel was nice. The location within the city wall was excellent.

Convenient and good location

Easy to access hotel at any time. Clean, with comfortable beds. Central in the city centrum. Good room for kitchen activity and meals for several persons. City worth visiting same as the whole island.

Sailors recovery

We spent five nights in the hostel during early June.  Our major complaint was that the doors and locks were very noisy and the owners did not seem to have done anything to reduce the noise.  You heard every time a door closed - usually slammed - bedroom, bathroom, front door, kitchen.  A little oil on the locks and hinges and adjustment of the door closers would help.  Cleanliness was ok but not always the best. . . bathroom floor corners could have used attention and we ran out of soap in the toilet one night.  Luckily we had fairly quiet and thoughtful other guests while we were there.  The kitchen has too many tables and chairs squished into the space but the outdoor balcony-terrace is nice.  It feels like they are trying to squeeze out money by writing things in a misleading way. . . room price is PER PERSON, parking is 160 SEK per day (we parked close by for 80 kr.per day - but less as we took the car out during the day and didn't have to pay at night), breakfast 160 kr. per person at the hotel next door. . . . and NO WIFI. . . . . ok but I wouldn't stay there again

OK for the price

Very clean, great location and value, and the staff at the associated hotel (Hotel Villa Borgen) are very nice and helpful.
Walls are thin, so cross yr fingers there aren't any very young children staying next door to you, but we had a great window, and there's a very nice veranda/seating area off of the kitchen room.
Really a great deal - we'd stay there again in a second, very clos to wonderful food and sights, but not close enough to get the noise. 


Lovely, clean, and centrally located.

This was the first time I stayed in a hostel since I was a student. However accommodation in July in Wisby is very expensive and we wanted to spend money on enjoying the destination instead so we decided to give it a try. We booked a family room with 2 sets of bunkbeds and this was pretty much the only furniture except for a small table and a chest of drawers. You should also bring your own bedlinen and towels.
The check-in for us was very easy, just collected the key from the hotel next door. 
The hostel is located on a pedestrianized shopping street. As a guest you are allowed to drive on this road however in order to access the parking area at the back of the building. This was very convenient as we never had to search for parking or pay parking fees. 

The location of the hostel is really fantastic on the main shopping street inside the ringwall. There are numerous restaurants at your very doorstep as well. The only drawback of the central location, at least if you have a room facing the street like ours, is that during the early hours of the morning the street gets quite noisy as people leave the various nightspots with no thoughts to those already asleep. It can also get noisy inside the hostel when people get home late, however only one set of guests cam home late, the rest seemed to be mature adults or families. 

The hostel consists of one corridor on the second floor on top of a shop with approx 8 rooms, showers and toilets on the corridor, and at the end of the corridor a nice spacious and well equipped kitchen where most guest have breakfast. There is also a small roof terrace. The toilets, showers and kitchen were clean so it was not as bad as I had expected having to share facilities. I guess it's better in a small hostel like this one.  

Considering we paid approx 120 euros per night for 4 pax I think it was really ok, we certainly saved a lot of money compared to the rates at a proper hotel and the location was excellent as well as the arrangements for parking.
