Mr. Chaminda Bandara, the owner of the hotel Chaya Hills Kandy, gave us a tour across Srilanka. He took us to places surrounding Kandy, Hikkadua, Tangalle, Bentota. Throughout the journey he was extremely patient, knowledgable and fun to talk to. When we mentioned we wanted to try special Srilankan food, he especially requested the cook at his hotel Chaya Hills to cook us a 6 dishes meal which was the best we have had on our trip to Srilanka.
Travelling and living at his hotel is highly recommended if you are looking for someone who is honest, friendly and knowledgeable.

Very good place to stay in Kandy

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, nice food! We stayed with two families. The owner brought us to the Kandy-Ella train early in the morning and was very helpful. Also the manager was very kind! He gave us good advice for our stay in Arugam Bay.

Perfect stay in Kandy

Chaya Hills is a lovely place tucked into thw hills around Kandy. They staff are very friendly and rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast is great too, if you're happy to try local dishes. The milk rice and onion sambol was fantastic!!

Comfortable Kandy Stay

Incredible service that they will give you! You arrive and they are always ready for you, from the time you wake up and when you leave! Rooms are very clean and comfortable, there is also air conditioning in the rooms since there is a hot temperature! The place has been built 2 years ago! I would recomande this place to anyone who wants something nice! Quality for price is the best deal you will never see!!!! Thank you for the awesome service, you deserve everything you want!!!!! Sri lanka , kandy

One of the nicest experiences I had in Sri Lanka ! 
First of all because the owner and the stuff were super helpful and friendly  . 
Rooms are clean, fresh , and modern . 
Each room has a big balcony from where you have a beautiful  few over The Valley. 
Brackfast was grate .
The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful area of candy , so a good choose if you don’t want the Hustle of a big City . 
I can’t totally recommend this place !

Grate place 

Stayed here for 2 nights during a tour of the island.  Young manager was excellent, both friendly and efficient.  Room was clean and comfortable.  Breakfast was good.  Wifi was good.
Only downside was that you are miles from anywhere which is a bonus for bird watching, but not if you want to eat dinner!

Comfortable stay

After spending a retreat week in the mountains above the tea plantations outside Kandy, staying at Chaya Hills was a peaceful and very clean place conveniently located near the Peradeniya University and out of the hustle-bustle of downtown Kandy. Nothing was very far away by car or tuk-tuk and after a day & evening of touring Kandy in the market crowds and the busy tourist scene at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, it was a nice haven to return to. The staff are so caring and cook excellent meals on request that are served in dining rooms on each floor - almost like having an apartment away from home. Besides a comfortable bed and hot shower, the best part was the Sri Lankan breakfast of string hoppers and dhal with fresh fruit - never had better anywhere else on my trip... be sure to order the night before for this traditional meal.

Quiet, Caring and Clean place!

I needed a stop-over stay before taking the train to Colombo. I prefer not having to go to Kandy because of the traffic jam and city crowds, so this hotel is good for that. It is 12 mins by tuk tuk to the Peradeniya train station which is one stop from Kandy, and I have a ticket for Kandy-Colombo, and boarding at Peradeniya is fine. It's clean and tidy, a family-run style hotel with decent home cooking. Each floor has a common kitchen area with a large table and chairs. The lower floors overlook trees and the dirt road but higher floors have a good view of the valley and green, I had a high floor room with balcony and loved it. The hotel provides dialog wifi which is relatively steady and sufficient (unless you're making video calls).
