Hotel grounds & Rooms,
The hotel is an old colonial home converted and hence, is cozy and small. The rooms however are large enough. We got a sea-facing room in the main old house building area and hence, enjoyed a big old bed, old heavy wardrobes, old windows and old heavy doors - which we loved, loved, loved - us being suckers of old, bygone things. The bathroom however, was modern with a sun roof streaming in natural light. It was quite spacious.

Hotel grounds has a neat sea-facing pool among other things. It was a delight to swim in after a day out in the hot sun of galle. We enjoyed free wi-fi. However, it didn't reach the rooms. One can use it in the hotel reception area.

Food & Service,
Food can be arranged in-house on request. Breakfast was free. The service was exceptional. We received so much help from the staff. From a scooter hire to food recommendations, places to go, etc.

Sweet gesture by the assistant manager,
I had admired the beautiful plants on the premises and had conveyed the same to the manager one day. When we were leaving, her daughter (Assistant) promptly had packed up a plant for me to carry to Germany that was such a sweet gesture!

Also, we had some misunderstandings of the room rates because we had to pay more than mentioned on the website. Then the assistant manager explained the incident clearly & it happened due to the exchange rates of dollars. However, she understood the situation and offered us a reasonable discount. So it was not a big loss for us  &  for the hotel tool. We were impressed by her attitude. Hope to visit your hotel on our next visit too.

(I’m sure this will be a good tip for other visitors as well. please check the rates with your currency before booking guys. We were lucky this time lol…………..)

Peaceful Sea-facing hotel with exceptionally friendly hosts

We stayed at 'Villa Firenze' of the Villa Caterina Group for 10 days. To begin with, the villa is really cute, nice garden, pool and a view of the ocean. What i didn't realise while booking and looking at the pictures is that the rooms don't actually communicate with each other, each room is separate, with separate entrance, with its own bathroom etc. Not that that was bad though, just was expecting another structure.
So, the rooms were furnished with antique furniture, really nice in my opinion. The bathrooms were rather spartan, but i don't think anyone was bothered by that. Some rooms did have problems with the water though. On the first day the water in the shower was barely dripping, on another day there was only cold water coming out. One room had some problems with the A/C that seemed to come and go. One room had cockroaches- they kept coming everyday although we asked the staff to spray. Seems like there was an opening behind the sink and they couldn't do something to stop them coming out of there. 
Now, the breakfast is exactly as described online: two eggs, two slices of toast, a banana, jam and butter, coffee and/or tea. Of course we ended up ordering double portions to fill up. Breakfast was being cooked at Villa Caterina nearby and brought to us by TukTuk, so sometimes it was a bit cold and the toast a bit dry. But honestly, the staff were so nice and we were all so excited to be there that i can't believe i even mention this! They also cooked/grilled/fried for us the sea food we bought. Absolutely delicious! So all in all, if it weren't for the cockroaches and the occasional problems with the water, Villa Firenze would definitely get a "Sehr Gut". Oh, and we had to pay the stay in advance upon arrival. Might have missed the hint while booking online, but i am used to paying at the end of the stay so i did find that strange. That's all from me, i hope my feedback will be helpful :)

Group of 12 on holiday

First time in an exotic land and the staff here was very accommodating and they spoke English!  that was a plus!  Food is of the native land and it took some getting used to but the fish was certainly fresh!  Loved the sea views from our room it was very calming .  Rooms were nice but could have been a bit bigger, thou it had everything that you needed and wanted in it.  A very tranquil and relaxing environment to be had here.  Thank you for the warm welcoming during our stay, I hated to leave!

Location 
If you are travelling to galle and hikkaduwa, staying here (in boosa area) would be a smart option. This is in the middle.

Nice , clean , well appointed rooms.We were at this hotel for our annual trip.Well impressed with the service of the staff.Very good foods.Really satisfied with everything there.We Enjoyed a lot.Very good location.....Very peaceful environment...

one of the nice places to go for the relaxation .staff is very friendly and they are really helpful.the prices are fair  and foods are delicious, we tasted a lovely Sri Lankan meals  ,Beach is lovely and rooms are furnished well
