The only 2 advantage I can think of is, it's central location and the beautiful sunset you get to see in the evening, from your bed.
Now for the place.. There's a caretaker, who gives no toot about you.. Specially if you are a local, his attitude is completely annoying.. Bathroom wasn't clean, I had to ask him to clean again, he wasn't too happy, I guess, so he tried to clean the toilet bowl with a bar of soap. All the plug points are round pin n asked the caretaker for a multiplug he said you have to buy one, but I asked their hotline n they got this guy to give one. None of the bedroom plug points were working, had to plug at the TV area. I didn't open the refrigerator or switch on the TV. 
The room can get quite warm in the evening coz the sun directly shines into the room, and the clear glasses were not doing any good. In the morning you wake up to the very bright light.. Either they should tint the glasses or use dark curtains. Bed sheet and pillow cases were soiled, chairs were dusty, even the bed frame.. No toilet rolls, so I had to get those to wipe the bed frame from dust.. Not a great place to stay for long, maybe just a night, that's all I think I can last there..

Could have maintained better

While searching for apartments in the area, I discovered this place. Called the number on the gate. Owner seemed nice at first. Arranged for me to see the place immediately. When I ask for the room rate for one week, he says 3500 Rupees, then adds "you can't even buy a burger for 500 Rupees these days"

After several phone calls, (he is a smooth talker, will just about have a conversation on anything and everything), all agreed, I am set to move there. Then when I call him to arrange move in time, he ups the ante, and tells me a different price around 50 USD per night. 

Remember the old saying "if it's too good to be true..."

Careful. Owner is a handful.

We stayed here for one night on our arrival in Sri Lanka. That was about the most you want to stay here. We weren't expecting luxury, but nonetheless the place does not meet basic standards for health and safety. For example, the cooking gas bottle was sitting right on the floor in front of the gas hob. An absolute no-no in Canada! 

The bathroom was dirty and smelled awful. One of the bedrooms had no AC (the unit was broken), and the other bedroom had permanent AC blasting cold air directly down onto the bed all night (without the remote we were unable to control the unit). 

We made ourselves  breakfast in the morning, but only two bowls for four of us, and better still, only one teacup! The kitchen was a bit grimy too.

The location is down an alleyway, so don't expect your Uber driver to known where it is. The tiny signboard is illuminated however. Although not a busy alleyway, when a vehicle comes down, the noise in the front bedroom is impressive.

As for the sea view... Good luck finding it.

Don't expect any frills here, or basic standards for that matter.

We booked this hotel for one night however after booking realised that our flight out of Colombo was 1am the morning after we arrived so we left at 9.30pm the same day
The hotel is well located approx 100 metres from the waterfront which is not acceptable for swimming and is about a 5 minute tuk tuk ride to Galle Face. Our room was small, not clean with the bathroom full of mould and the refrigerator had dirty water all through the bottom which was cleaned after pointing this out to the owner. The bed sheets had seen better days, the pillows were as thin as the sheets and the towels were thin and shabby
After checking in we decide to stay only as we were leaving later and we used the place as a place to store bags and shower
It is not a place I would recommend or stay again at, there are better choices

Glad we didn't stay the night

Stayed here for one night for a price of 5500LKR and booked via Agoda.  The quality of the accommodation was good and it was a one bed studio flat with a separate kitchen area with cooker, Wifi, TV and A/C plus fan.  The area is only a 10/15 minute walk up Galle Road to Galle Face and was quite at night.  

There were plenty of places to eat and the accommodation as well as a little Food City (Supermarket) just down the road.  This is a good option for a few nights when in Colombo and is only a 200/250 LKR tuk-tuk ride for Fort railway station.

Good place for a few nights

Having no accomodation booked in Colombo we were advised these apartments were suitable, they are on a road just up from the sea which was nice. Our room was quite large with high ceilings, the whole house had a colonial feel, and that includes the furnishings. There  was  a kitchen with a washing machine--  but we couldn't get it to work, the TV was also not working -- the remote was broken. The bed was comfy but the bedding was very poor and the pillows were very thin. The bathroom did have very hot water in the shower but the basin was a safety  hazard --- it was not fastened to the wall properly. We were given towels sadly one of them was filthy. The wi fi connection was good, and we could get it in our room. The area was good for the sea front , and there is a supermarket around the corner.if I visited Colombo again I would not stay at the ocean studio apartments.
