This is a very good place to stay if on a budget. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, functioning bathroom and not at all noisy given it’s on Main Street. The location is perfect. Above all the service provided by Arrosa (no idea how to spell his name) and his staff is just excellent. Quick, efficient and discreet and he listens to what you want and uses his local knowledge to help honestly and selflessly. 

De stayed 4 days in Arugam Bay at Millennium and we were very satisfied. Clean rooms and really friendly staff who told us a lot about Sri Lanka and helped us with tours. 
Only minus was the madrasses that was a bit too thin. 
The place gets our best recomondations. 😊

Very friendly feel

We spent in total 9 days in Arugam Bay and only first one in Millennunm Rest. The location has quite high ratings, but we could not find any special about it. The rooms are just ok and clean enough, also if there is room for approvment. The windows are fronting to the aisle of the hotel. Compared to other locations we saw and steyed in Arugam Bay the value for the price is not good enough.

Nothing Special

Nice location, just 1 min walk to the beach. We stayed 1 night in an AC room. Bed is very comfortable but room small (no place to let your luggage or hang out clothes).
However our bathroom was really not clean with bad smell (maybe due to our last minute booking considering other comments?) which made the experience not good for us... The price for Arugam Bay is more than correct so if the host makes sure that the rooms are always clean when they receive someone, it would be a very nice place to stay for backpackers.

Good price for the location

I stayed here and got a rash on my skin from the unclean bedsheets/unclean water. I stayed here for 8 days (as unfortunately that was how long I had booked) and within those 8 days my room was cleaned only once.  I spoke to the manager and he said all of these things were my problem, not his.

These people don’t genuinely care about their guests they are just after your money without providing a fair service.
