errible place. The women who works there is super super rude. She actually tried to kick us out even though we had paid. We shown her the confirmation but she told us to get out. We had to pay cash as we was extending a night stay. Because of her stupidity we paid twice and as she never answer the phone from Hotels.com we can’t get a refund on the money paid. Awful place. If running around on the floor too.

Terrible place stay clear. Very rude staff and bullying

Stayed here for 4 days at the beginning of June. Never had my sheets changed once,had towels changed once the whole stay.There was a mix up with the payment from booking.com and the staff member told us to get out unless we make payment straight away. She was rude and had an attitude problem,she certainly should not be working in a customer facing role.If she worked for me she would of been sacked a long time ago.The other staff I dealt with were helpful and friendly,just not this one.

Horrible staff member

I was made feel very welcome when I arrived at Pension Magec. The hospitality I received from the management and other guests was amazing. Its a very friendly place. The property is very clean and my room was cleaned everyday. The management are extremely helpful. The management will go out of their way ensure that guests needs are met all times. Carla is lovely as are everyone else works there including Sandi the manager
The view from the top veranda is stunning.
 The guests can sit and have a drink and chat together on the veranda.  As a solo traveller you would never be lonely and its very safe. Everyone talks to each other when up on the veranda. You are made feel welcome by both management and other guests at all times. There is always someone to talk to. I felt we were like a big happy family.  There is free tea and coffee at the property.  I would highly recommend Pension Magec as its very central. Kind regards Anna from Ireland 

Excellent Service 

Booked through booking.com, paid on arrival, no issues, until I returned back to the UK when I was charged again by booking.com, both booking.com and myself were unable to contact Pension Magec via phone or email. Be aware

Charged Twice

We stayed here for one night. 
A man from the street entered the hotel, he was dangerous, he howled all night, and made a lot of noise. Impossible to sleep. The police came. The morning after : I told the maid who called the owner about it: he refused to compensate me. Worst night a disrespectful hotel. Because of there is any problem the owner won't refund you, even if the police has to come.

Dangerous place and very bad customer service.

We booked this accommodation due to a late departure and no option of a late checkout at our resort, we were not sure what to expect but were well pleased when we arrived, check in was easy and hassle free, the room was spacious and comfortable.
We were apprehensive about the prospect of sharing a bathroom and showering facilities but  it was fine, the place was so clean and tidy and plenty of towels available.
The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. the view from our room was looking out towards the sea. There was a fan in the room also which was very welcome.
The nearest taxi rank is only a 4 min walk from here.  
Free wifi available, tea and coffee making facilities on ground floor.

This Pension was big surprise for me, all is simple but very clean! Position is perfect, there is playa chica at 5 minutes walking, supermarket and restaurant near Pension. Staff is perfect, for me was warm welcom , girl Chelo was very helpful and simpatic!! There is also a kitchen for guest, tea and coffe are free. My next holiday in Lanzarote sure will return at Pension Magec.

"I booked in here, (was not allowed into room until after 3pm) just for one night at the end of a holiday. Reception staff, friendly, and the place is quite central to the old town! On initial inspection, room 34, though very small, seemed reasonably clean, however after retiring to bed at approx 12.30am my wife was awoken at 4.30am to a small insect crawling across her face! We immediately jumped from the bed, lifted the mattress to find these filthy bedbugs crawling about in their faeces (video evidence) !!! We immediately packed our belongings and left, there didn’t seem to be any receptionist about! I contacted the said establishment, not once, but twice to which I was completely ignored! It was only on contacting booking.com and showed them my video, that I finally was awarded a refund of my money, BIG DEAL!!! All I wanted was a complete apology,I still never got it!!! I know it’s a budget establishment but in this day and age there is no excuse for this filth!!!! You want stay here? Check the bed is thoroughly clean!!!"

Bed Bugs!!!!!!

High marks for this pension.  I had a single room with a private bath.  Simple furnishings including a wardrobe and desk.  Good sized bathroom, so one area of improvement would be to replace the tiny shower cubicle with one where you don't bump your elbows against the walls or accidentally turn off the water.  Also, while there is a TV in the reception area, there is no TV in the room if that is important to you.  No real issues with noise.

The people running the pension were very friendly.  They let guests use a small kitchen with refrigerator, and offer free coffee/tea.  The pension also has a nice rooftop terrace where one can see the sea.  Even after checkout, they'll let you use those resources along with the shared bathrooms/shower.  

Location was great, only a block or two from Playa Chica and Varadero, and about 10 minutes by foot to Playa Grande.  Also, the public library is right next door and they'll let you use the computer for Internet there free.
