We usually stay in Figuretas or Talamanca close to the beach when visiting Ibiza, however we decided to try a new area as we were visiting in October. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find this beautiful hotel set alone just on the outskirts of town. The suite we had was beautiful, extremely stylishly furnished,  with wonderful views out of the arched windows over the fields and down to the sea. It has a well stocked “honour bar” which worked well. We will definitely stay here again where you’re guaranteed peace and quiet.

Fantastic find

We were two friends having a short break in Ibiza to celebrate a birthday, and we stayed in a variety of places while there. We only spent one night at La Finca which felt too short. We also stayed in room 9 and there is a little fridge - not sure how the previous reviewers missed it. 

The bedroom and bathroom was lovely. We really liked the decor, the twin bed was comfy and all the bathroom products smelled delicious. I would have liked to have bought these products, they were such good quality. 

There wasn’t anywhere outside to dry our swimsuits or bikinis, which meant we had to drape them all over the room. And yes, they do need to put a sheer blind or curtain on the window behind the fountain for privacy!

The pool was gorgeous, and we really enjoyed it hanging out there. A private seating area immediately outside the room to hang out at would have made our stay even even better. Just a small table and a couple of chairs would be good. We didn’t really want to sit with everyone else in the hotel bar area, as friendly as everyone was. People come back regularly to this hotel so they get to know each other, sharing cabs to clubs etc.

We had been staying in an apartment the previous night so we had tea, milk etc. with us and the owner gave us hot water for a pot the next morning, which was very kind of her. She didn’t have to do that. We did have very good coffees that morning as well, but not breakfast as we were going out for a big lunch.

It was the one of the most expensive places we stayed, but it is very pretty. I would recommend it.

Very pretty little place with lovely pool

The room was spacious - wish there would have been a little fridge to keep water in and snacks. The bathroom was clean, but we had to fiddle with the water dials on the floor to eventually get a hot shower. The toiletries were great! I was disappointed with the ¨double bed ¨ as it was two single beds pushed together and you could feel the crack down the middle. Also the comforter on top was two separate single bed comforters. I found a dead bug on the side of the bed that was very obvious. There was also two ants on top of the bed that i had to brush off. Also for the room (9) we stayed in that was just left of the pool in front of the fountain, the bathroom window needs curtains or blurred windows for privacy. Anyone would have been able to snoop in our bathroom window while showering or using the toilet! The host and staff were very nice. Overall great place. I would suggest to the owner/GM to take down the old pictures on TripAvisor. This finca clearly was remodeled or redecorated with new and modern furniture and the photos dont do the property justice.

I can only assume that the people who have left glowing reviews of this place did not, as I did, pay €240 (a rate that did not BTW include breakfast) for one night in September. As part of my job, I've stayed in hundreds of hotels across the spectrum from 5-star luxury (the Four Seasons) to humble but wonderful b&bs in Portugal and can honestly say that La Finca was, by a country miles,  the worst value in relation to price that I've experienced. Here's why:

1. There is no Wifi in the rooms. It is available if you sit at one of two tables in the public area, but if those tables are taken, tough luck.

2. Zero sound-proofing between rooms. When the people in the room above took a shower it was as if they were actually in my room. In addition, I could hear their shower dripping all night.

3. Black mould spores in the bathroom, on the wall and on the window sill. I took pictures, which are dated, to supply to Bookings.com when I raised the complaint, but the owner simply denied it.
(Incidentally, the owner claimed that it was only very recently that the wifi had stopped working in the rooms; but reviews left by other guests suggest she was not being entirely truthful. Nor was she honest about the complaints procedure, telling me that my complaint was with bookings.com when in fact they told me this not the case.

4. Location – the hotel is in the middle of nowhere with a busy dual carriageway and a  half an hour walk (or a €20 return cab ride) between you and Ibiza Old Town. Taxis have to be called because of the remote location.

5. Lack of staff and facilities – I don't mind paying €240 a night if you have access to fantastic facilities such a room service, a bar or restaurant. La Finca has none of those facilities and the staff leave after they have served breakfast and cleaned the rooms, which means the place is deserted after midday. The remote location and the absence of a single staff member after midday raises important safety concerns

6. The 'bar' mentioned in the blurb on bookings.com is not a bar by most people's standards with an actual barman serving actual drinks. It is basically a fridge stockign a limited selection of drinks which you note down on sheet of paper. ie like a mini-bar but in a public area.

7. A minor point but given that you are a) in the middle of nowhere b) the water in the bathroom is not drinkable (it comes out of the tap as foam) c) have paid €240 a night for not very much at all, but there is not even a complimentary bottle of water in your room. 

In short, I felt I had been mugged by this guesthouse, which is charging 5-star prices for a very basic and sub-standard experience.  When I complained to the owner about the lack of facilities, she replied "We are a guest house". Exactly. That's why you have no right to be charging €240 a night.

Beautiful little boutique hotel/bnb in the hillside a very short drive from Ibiza town which has a huge selection of lovely restaurants and bars. We stayed on our honeymoon, and it is by far the prettiest and most charming hotel we've stayed in. 

There is a lovely peaceful vibe there. The garden around the pool is beautiful. We had the large suite which was very rustic inside as part of the old farmhouse which has been lovingly restored. Old beams on show and thick whitewashed walls. The common room is very beautiful and the manger Sonia and her staff do a fantastic job of making you feel welcome. 

There is a selection of drinks and snacks at the self service bar which runs using an honesty system. There is a phone available for guests to use at any time. Breakfast is also available and well worth having.

The water is all salt water (in the taps and pool). I didn't mind this but some people may find this unusual/an issue. 

I would definitely recommend hiring a car if you stay as it would cost you a lot in taxis otherwise.
