Hotel Liabeny

A fantastic hotel in a very good central location. Check in was easy and knowledge of English exceptional. Hotel room was spotless, (cleaned every day) and spacious with good wardrobe space, mini bar (extra cost), TV, adequate sockets, clean crisp bedding changed daily as were towels. Bathroom really good with walk in shower, complimentary toiletries etc. We were on a B&B basis, breakfast a bit slow to get a table as had to wait until one became available but was not an issue as only a matter of minutes really. Various cereals, hot and cold food, tea/coffee etc. It was my birthday while I was there and at breakfast the Maitre D presented me with a slice of birthday cake complete with candle, and when returning to the room there was a bottle of bubbly in ice bucket with glasses and a bowl of sweets waiting for me. What a lovely touch, just goes to show how they think of their guests. Lifts were good, no waiting around. Although room was facing a construction site, it didnt really bother us as they didnt start work until around 7.30am and we were up and about by then. All staff from cleaners, reception, restaurant staff, managers were most courteous and helpful. Hotel is in a fab location central to all shopping, bars, restaurants, Metro etc. We ventured out most days and found it easy to wander around but be prepared for a lot of walking if you dont use the transport facilities. We went to the Bernabeu Stadium as pre booked before coming to Madrid - a most fantastic tour to do whilst there. Though a taxi ride was about 25mins and cost 20 euro. The palace and Cathedral were around a 15min walk as were the main shopping area at Gran Via. We booked this through Easyjet and can honestly say we were not disappointed at all, a real good choice!
