We arrived late into our apartment tired and exhausted.   
Initial views was the apartment was needing a good paint, lots of scuff marks, food and drink spills and dirt on the walls around light switches etc. 
the bed sheet was very badly worn with lots of bobbles (wear) on it , there was no mattress protector, I moved the sheet and the mattress was very badly soiled. 
The shower was very mouldy with slime around the bottom, the wood area the walls were swollen with the water damage and all were broken away from the wall. 

The security blind on the window was broken and was lying in a pile on the balcony, there was a shower rod put up to make a curtain rod that held one single curtain to provide privacy. From outside! . 

We complained to the owners on the first morning to raise the concerns of the apartment. And received a comment thanking us for my opinion, it's not an opinion it's a fact. 

Someone called  but hadn't read my messages and said they would tell manager. 
Someone called again. Again not read the messages !! 

Received message to take picture of apartment as we left to show apartment in good state !!!  

Contacted. Booking.com.  Still waiting on reply.  

Apartment should not be used at all we paid £153 per night

Not habitable at all, badly soiled bed

I don t know from where to start the comment i will start with good things -we was in contact with 2 persons via what s up which they give us the indications for the keys etc ,the 2 persons they was friendly and helpful with the information 
                                                       The second good things about this apartment was the location ,is in the center of Madrid very close to metro station .
And now about the bad things ...i need a book to write about it.the room not painted, the wardrobe need to be fix is about to fall,the bathroom is a joke very small small my husband is about 120kg and hardly fit in the bathroom.the table is mouving the chairs very uncomfortable,if you want to cook maibe is better to go outside....
For me personal i will close the place down, it was over rated to much money for what they  offer

Never ever again 

Stayed 1 night at this property, i would say its ok for a very short visit but wouldn't recommend for 3-4 nights. Very noisy due to its location but our main issue was communication with the property owner. It was hard to get hold of the folks before the visit. 
It is next to sol mayor plaza so the location is right in madrid center. 

Average but great location

The location is great in the middle of Madrid, nearby public transport and lots of restaurants, shops and musea. The apartment was clean, but outdated. The worrying thing is, there is no escape plan or fire distinguisher in the apartment. I did not see any fire hoses in the building also emergency signs are lacking. I was told the building has only one entrance and exit. So in case of a fire you are trapped.

Location great - but safety...?

It was an awful experience:
- Our stay was for 5 nights and for whole stay we had 4 towels in total, no cleaning, no changing towels, no changing linen, not additional toilet paper.
We requested it after 3 days but Ricardo from hotel didn't do anything. 
- We were 4 adults and we had one double bed and one bed bunk. 
Bunk bed was in the bad condition, loosened, shaking with every little move I had. I thought I will fall down at any moment.
The person below was also expecting bunk bed to fall apart and we both to have serious injuries.
We requested to change the room but they didn't want to do that. Instead they added one mattress on the bed in living room which was a bit better but still the bed was small and not regular bed.
- In addition to that the person who was sleeping in the living room was right under Air conditioning which had to operate all the time because it was 45 degrees outside.
- Two persons in double bed were sleeping also right under A/C.
- The apartment was also very dirty. There are some dirty ladies pants behind the washing machine. Stain and dirt in the living room.
- Chairs were in bad conditions as well loosened.
- Shower cabin is extremely small, you cannot turn around
- Wi Fi was not working at all. Connected but no data. Not recommended for anyone!!!!

Dirty, small beds, the worst service ever

We are 4 well-traveled people who stayed at this horrible unsafe appartment building for 3 nights. Let me begin by stating that the average rating of this appartment is mostly based on its central location. Nevertheless the headline of this review says it all! Read further if you want to know the whole story behind this terrible experience! 

Night 1: 
The outdated appartment which looked nothing like the online pictures was filthy in the worst way imaginable: besides lots of dust, there were dark (body) hairs everywhere you looked; on the floor, the kitchen counter, the bathroom, even in the fridge! If you think this is gross than imagine a smell so strong it literally makes you sick to your stomach! A smell so penetrating it instantly gets into your clothes, your hair and even worse your pours! It was like staying in an old greasy frying pan after being puked on by hobos who had fried prawn for dinner! Since there's no reception to personally assist guests we called the only known telephone number! A disinterested guy answered who didn't state his name and spoke little English! He assured us someone would come. 2 hours and 4 phone calls later (after being blocked the 3rd time I called) someone finally came. 3 hours and a lot of hassle later another appartment was appointed to us! We were relieved but this glimpse of happiness quickly turned into more disgust than the night before! Yes it is possible at this appartement!

Night 2:
After a night out the town I fell content asleep in my new bed! Only to wake up with the worst imaginable itch ever! 24 red spots on both of my arms and 3 in my face! At first I thought I was bitten by mosquitoes! Can you imagine my reaction when I found out it were flees that were nested in my bed that bit me! The thought of these nasty bacterial infested creatures crawling over my skin and biting me in my sleep made me sick to my stomach once again!  

Night 3:
In order to prevent from getting bit again i slept on the sofa the last night which was not very comfortable! Luckily we left that morgen at 6.00 in the morning! We couldn't imagine staying a second longer! 

In addition, you should know that this old building has no proper escape plan in case of fire! You'll be totally locked in as the building is internally locked down by big iron gates! In case of fire this place truly is a death trap! 

Madrid is a great and beautiful city! Too bad a rental company like Sol Mayor is not able to match these positive characteristics! Sadly the total opposite is true! 

Reeking flee infested death trap!

I spent 3 nights in Sol Mayor Apartments in Apr 2015. This is one of the best location in Madrid for the sightseeing. I stayed in a room in the top with opened and large balcony with great view of the city. 

My trip there was for business, many people would choose one out of the center city due to the traffic but Sol Mayor Apartments is just right at the Sol Metro and buses. It's also a good place for walking and hanging out around.

The room is not very large but it's clean and what do you expect for a budget amount. The staffs were very helpful and some of them can speak English
