Hotel Roma Reial

Whole hotel and our room was very clean. Breakfast was hot drinks, juice, rolls, spreads, cereal & yogurt, but enough if sightseeing especially if warm. When we arrived we were asked by the staff if we would like a room with a view, we of course said yes. It has a lovely, small balcony that looks over a beautiful square with many trees, a fountain, unusual lighting and many restaurants, but the restaurants and bars are full and very noisy until about 5am when delivery vans arrive with stocks of more alcohol etc. The 1 thing I would like people with mobility problems to be aware of, as I have some, is there is only 1 lift that holds 3 people and we were on the 3rd floor and the breakfast area is in the basement, which we actually loved but the lift ends at the ground floor leaving you to walk down uneven steps. But as regards where the hotel is it literally could not be better placed. You leave the square straight onto Las Ramblas and everything else is at 1 end or the other of this. 10 mins walk away we went on the hop-on hop-off bus, 25 euros, which took us around the outer parts of the city and we saw much more plus learning about places, a perfect form of transport to see the big attractions eg Basilica Familia. The staff at the hotel are very knowledgeable and helpful. A taxi to the airport, about 20mins, is 46 euros
