Was in McGregor for a wedding and completely loved Fountain Place - it's hard to imagine that there could be a better to place to stay. Val provides a perfect combination of independence, privacy, hospitality and service. 

Each of the two guest suites have their own entrance off the terrace - mine (and I presume both) had a living/kitchen area (fridge and microwave), separate bathroom with a good big shower and a separate bedroom. You can come and go without disturbing anyone. The suite had everything I needed and contains some lovely artworks. Most importantly the bed was great and I slept well.

Breakfasts are excellent - served on the terrace under the shade of the pergola as the weather was good with the fountain tinkling and sunbirds at the feeder - first a perfect dish of granola, yogurt and fruit, with the emphasis on the fruit to start and then a cooked breakfast.

McGregor is a great little town with plenty of places to eat and some lovely galleries and of course the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Completely lovely place

A quiet suite that opens onto a terrace with the eponymous fountain, birds in the branches above the pergola under which you have a superb breakfast,fresh water & milk in the fridge , a short walk to cafes and restaurants as well as places of interest, thank you to Val for the great welcome!

A peaceful haven

Stayed for five nights in February.  Delightful room which opened out on to a beautiful garden. Our breakfast was served in the garden every morning and was delicious.  Yoghurt, fruit  and granola followed by a hot dish of eggs, bacon etc.
Val, the owner, was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.  We were totally relaxed and would definitely return if we visit. McGregor again.

A haven of tranquility

This was a wonderful place to stay. I would highly recommend it. Excellent value for money. We had a wonderful warm and friendly welcome by the owner.  The garden is lovely, really a pretty space.

We have been coming to McGregor for over 15 years and love the village. We only recently discovered Fountain Place, which is just magical. Valerie was so welcoming, and the cottage is beautifully designed with some wonderful art on the walls. 
We had a superb breakfast in the courtyard watching the sugarbirds, and she has the most delightful and entertaining rescue dog!
We will definitely  be back!

What an amazing discovery!

We had a lovely one night stay with Val and her beautiful Fountain Place. Comfortable,quiet rooms, with everything you need. Waking up to birdsong and enjoying a gorgeous breakfast on the veranda overlooking the tranquil garden.

Beautiful peaceful stay

Thank you Valerie for a wonderful stay with you.  We thoroughly enjoyed our evening drinks on your terrace and our suite was absolutely exquisite. Unusual for us both to sleep right through a night and wonderful to wake up to your beautiful birds. The garden and setting is truly delightful and the coffee delicious.  What more could we want? Thanks again!

Peace and tranquility as well as warm and inviting

My wife and I were paying our second visit to McGregor and chose this guesthouse as it seemed to offer the comfort and quiet surroundings that we sought.  In fact, Fountain Place offered much more than that, as it was managed by a charming couple who did everything possible to make us feel welcome. This was despite my wife suffering from a tummy bug she picked up en route and myself tripping on a rough piece of pavement in the village and collecting a nasty cut hand in the process.
The breakfasts served were excellent, the sunbirds were lovely to watch and we were sorry when our stay ended.

Comfortable stay in quiet, attractive surroundings

We wondered if we could possibly enjoy our return visit, as much as last year.

No problem at all, better than ever. The welcome and attention to detail is very heart warming. Advice on restaurants and attractions is spot on

Even more exciting as Linzi, is now becoming a popular authoress, with her lovely new children’s book, ‘The little cat that thought she was a dog’, so even some bed time reading

Another magical stay

Absolute fabulous hosts; stunning garden; beautifull room; lovely pool area; tranquility and peace; the food was excellent!! Way more than what we expected!! Very good advice on restuarants and places to visit! Available hosts and ready to help! Very enjoyable weekend! Will defnitely visit again and stay with you guys! Thankyou so much!!
