If you plan to visit the Bled area and enjoy nature, this is a great stay. We took full advantage of the proximity to Bled and Vintgar Gorge and Mirjam was very helpful in getting us a map and info to walk to the gorge from her place (highly recommended). The view from the room is lovely and there were even craft beers for purchase in the fridge!

Excellent stay

Proberly the worst stay in a hotel I"ve ever had in my life, totally ruined our holiday! The host was unwelcoming to us and then actually became threatening and racist towards us on our final night. Firstly when we arrived the lady did not smile or say hello, all she said was "oh there's two of you! I was only expecting one person" I just said oh "yeh 2, for the double room" wondering why she was expecting one person.. little did I know this would be a huge deal! The lady was immediately very stressed and was saying how we would have to go away and to come back whilst she made the room up for 2 people. We said yeh that's fine no problem. She then went onto say that we would be using lots more electricity and water and we needed to pay more city tax for 2. She could not let it go that apparently I"d only booked for one person? We felt this wasn't an issue as the room I had selected was a double room anyway not a single room. What was the big issue? She then said it was an extra 10 euros a night as there would be 2 people in the double room. She kept mentioning "oh and you have changed your dates" as I had previously amended them through booking.com, it was like she was telling me off like I had done something really naughty! There was no warmth or friendliness or any general chit chat. It all felt very unwelcoming and highly stressful. We came to agreement with the lady that we would pay an extra 5 euros a night as we had selected a double room on booking.com so we didnt know we had only booked for one person and it was just a mistake. The lady then demanded our payment immediately. We told her we needed to go to the atm as she couldn't take card. She kept asking "when can you pay me?" "When can you pay me, can you pay me in full?!" "What time will you pay me?" It came across quite insulting actually like we were going to run off, which if we had known what the stay was going to be like I wish we had!!

During that day when I was out booking.com called me and said that the lady has sent an email about us as I'd only booked a double room for one person. I honestly was tired of even talking about it, It seemed rediculous after we'd already come to an agreement she had still gone to booking.com and got them to call me on my holiday. How had 2 people sleeping in a double room that I had booked become such an issue. It was almost laughable. When we came back without greeting us she immediately asked us for our payment. Which we felt was extremely rude. She never showed us to our room or helped us with our bags. The room itself was extremely basic for the price, sort of like the room you would get on a school trip, but had a nice view. I would recommend bringing your own pillows as they are old thin and lumpy.
You are staying in a room of the lady house and sharing her drive so you feel like you are staying in someone else's house. It didn't feel like we were on a nice holiday being able to what we wanted at our own leisure but it felt like we were staying in an unfriendly strangers house. Also it is very far from the lake itself, so if you want to walk to lake it would take you 45 minutes so you will want other forms of transport.
One of the days there was no toilet paper in the shared bathroom which was annoying when you paying and the basic needs werent met. Day to day there was no new towels provided the maid just hung up the same ones outside the window on a line.

On the last night of our stay me and my partner were getting ready to go for a meal and had just had a shower and were getting dressed. We heard a bang next door. We didn't know what it was but apparently one of the other guests had gone into the bathroom carrying a huge metal bowl of soup(!?) and dropped it on the floor and tripped over. When we saw the lady who had fell over we asked if she was ok. She said I'm okay yeh but the bathroom was wet. We said we were sorry about her fall and hoped she was ok. We were curteous even though we didnt know if it was our fault or what had caused her to trip. This was a mistake as I think they saw this as us accepting the blame. We were still in the process of using the bathroom and there was nothing to wipe the floor with as we were only provided with very small towels which we had to use to dry ourselves and there were no mats on the floor. Although me and my partner hadn't noticed any obvious wet patches on the floor. Also the lady was juggling a huge bowl of soup into a bathroom and that could had caused her to trip.
Ten minutes later a man who I guess was her husband burst into our room when i was still getting ready and came into our faces shouting at us and swearing at us in broken english. Saying "you left the bathroom wet you morons, what kind of idiots are you" he literally looked like he was going to hit one of us, it was totally out of the blue after we had already apolised to the lady and She seemed fine with us! I told him to get out our room as he was shouting at us and invading our own personal space. It was totally out of order.I felt quite shook up about it, me and my partner then left for a meal. 

When we came back, there was a threatening and RACIST note on our door from the host!  We honestly could not believe our eyes. It said " if you check out one minute later than 10am I will call the police, you left the bathroom wet- you are not humans! I have told booking.com I have cancelled all bookings from British people!!" 
When we checked out we had the same hostile experience with the lady shouting at us blaming us once again for the ladies fall.

This seems so bloody unfair that we hadn't even been given a chance to explain ourselves,  and the whole hotel had ganged up on us. It was absolutely disgusting, threatening and racist! We did not deserve this on our holiday, we were being blamed for something that was the hotel's responsiblity - Maybe they should invest in a bathroom mat for the floor or a proper fitted shower rather than a bath tub with a flimsy curtain.  I cant believe we even spent money on the stay, it was such a horrendous experience, and thanks to the inapropiate note we left with such a sour taste in our mouths. You would have to pay ME to stay there again. I still am gob smacked about the note  and I wouldn't recommend this hotel/house to anyone, Brits you are lucky that you will no longer be able to stay there.

Rude unfriendly racist hosts, totally ruined our holiday!

We Stayed here for 2 nights with a 4 year old and 1 year old. Couldn't have been made more at home. Very welcoming with the kids, perfect cot bed provided, plenty of space in the room, solid comfortable bed, tea coffee facilities with supermarket across road, beautiful garden, large (shared) bathroom and everything in immaculate condition. Feel v lucky to have found this place. Thank you mirjam and roman! You'd need a car... close to great gorge 

Fantastic friendly clean and homely

For our room we had got a separate bathroom too. For the other two rooms there is a joint one. It is a very beautiful private apartment. Well maintained, with very friendly owners. The WiFi worked prefectly, and all of the other stuff too. There is a small common area with a small fridge, microwave oven coffe maker.

If you are looking for a good accommodation close for Bled, than it is a good choice.

Located 5 minute drive from the center of bled, Rooms ambrožič offers an excellent experience for travelers in the Bled regions. We stayed for a week in one of the suites that was nicely decorated, clean and had a nice view to the village of Spodnje Gorje. The owners, Miriam and Roman, are a lovely couple. they were extremely nice, hospitable and caring during our stay, and provided much assistance in planning our trip. The room was in excellent condition, with superb shower and strong wifi signal. It was also nice to have a local supermarket just across the street. It is a highly recommended establishment when traveling to and from the Bled region; It offers the combination of fine hosting experience with the benefits of family-style, non commercial guesthouse.
