This is such a wonderful resort. The staff is wonderful they go above and beyond to cater to our needs. Nina is such an asset. She assisted my wife as we are a elderly couple. Security is so polite and friendly.

The whole area is accessible to everything. You don't need to rent a car everything us within walking distance.

This a truly our happy place.

TRULY A WONDERFUL PLACE 

This place is my favorite place ever. Location is perfect. Close to all amenities. Grocery mart, many wonderful restaurants, casino and stores.  Close to the airport to watch the planes. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating and it is always extremely clean. 
It has a beautiful pool and is directly on the beach.

The perfect vacation spot

We are just back from 7 weeks at Royal Islander,La Terrace
Very clean, nice rooms overlooking airport and ocean.  We found Nina went above and beyond to make our stay so pleasant   All the staff that we encountered were so friendly and helpful. The resort is within walking distance to groceries, restaurants and beach.  The Tortuga restaurant became our favourite.

The only positive thing I can say about this place is  the location is good
I booked through Expedia thinking that I was booking the Royal Islander La Plage
The add was misleading . I also did a review on Expedia which they refused to post
Stay away from this place, the corridors are dark and dingy . The bedroom linens are dated and smelly, the bedroom floor flooded every time we showered. To name a few issues
We spent 6 days at La Playa Orient bay which was amazing and wanted to be closer to the airport, fortunately we only stayed one night

Stay away from this place,

From the moment you step in you are welcome with a smile . The professionalism and friendliness of the staff truly set the standard for a awesone experience.
The ambiance is great . The room is well maintained and decor is nice. We have been returning back as members, spaciou, large outdoor space. Supermarket at the resort made a hugh difference. The restaurants are waking distance delicious food. Tortuga, Jax, Roma best food on the Island. Management is wonderful. I cant wait to return back.

Best vacation

This resort is well maintained and is in a great location.  The staff are very friendly and helpful. Maho beach is always fun to be at with the many jets landing and people watching by the airport.  The restaurant at the sister resort, La Plage, is always good and is in a great location nestled nest to the beach.  Fabulous resort and great place to hang your hat in St. Martin.

Great resort and a great location

Our family, ages 9 to 71, enjoyed this resort so very much.  It was clean and kept clean by a great staff.  We all enjoyed the view of the airplane landings and take offs, and were pleasantly surprised at the minimal noise when all the doors were closed.  The location is great with many restaurants and stores within walking distance,  The beach was beautiful and within easy walking distance also.  We hope to go back sometime.

Great location for beaches, restaurants, night clubs, services
Terrible resort for a welcoming first impression.  
The unit had a very musty smell and not until we got the de-humidifier working properly
the unit smelled.
Just an old, outdated unit that could be so much better.
Also, guests are required to pay $50 for one week of internet service.  Service which is weak much of the time and will only allow 2 devices used at a time.

La Terrase Resort in Maho village.

Our 7th time in SXM but the first staying in Maho; we normally stay in the Simpson Bay area but didn't see any room types we wanted. As we later found out it's because many hotels and restaurants are closed for vacation or renovation during mid to late September. 

I chose the La Terrasse resort for a few reasons. King bed; ocean facing with a balcony and view of the airport so I could watch planes coming in. The price was also good for the area. 

We arrived via Jet Blue out of JFK much earlier than check in so took a cab to the resort to check our bags. Surprise #1 our room was ready and we were able to check in right away. The property is located within walking distance of everything in Maho and we also walked to Mullet Beach about 15 minutes down the road. 

Our room was clean, comfortable with a surprisingly large balcony. The mattress was very hard and pillows well past it but that's a matter of personal opinion. The only issues were a dehumidifier that ran 24/7 and was fairly noisy (but without it it would have been unbearable I think) and a shower that needed a gasket on the door to keep the water from going on the bathroom floor. We didn't bother to tell the desk until check out because it wasn't that much of an issue. The rooms could use a refresh at some point soon but even without it's a great value. 

The pool was great and most of the time we had it to ourselves. The workout room was across the street in a sister resort so a bit of an inconvenience there, but again no big deal. 

The real heroes of our stay was the staff; a very special shout out to a few:
Varsha and Kalisha at the front desk, Chrisnel and Arnold at the pool and Ora in security watching out for us in front of the lobby. They were always willing to go the extra mile with a smile on their faces and should be commended by management. 

Overall if you are looking for a mid-priced stay in a great area I would 100% recommend La Terrasse.
