Grand Hotel Continental Bucuresti

We stayed in the Grand Hotel Continental in Bucharest for five nights in May. We had a large room on the third floor which was very nicely furnished and very quiet. The room was cleaned and refreshed every day. All of the staff were very courteous and friendly, and most of them spoke very good English. There was a large breakfast buffet and there were also made to order options. The hotel exudes old world charm and has a very nice common area on the ground floor. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is just a little bit north of the hustle and bustle and noise of Old Town, but is within easy walking distance. In fact, it is within easy walking distance of many of the main attractions of Bucharest and many good restaurants. Location is very important in Bucharest. During the day the old narrow streets are totally unable to handle the high volume of traffic and become a log jam. Walking is invariably the fastest way to get some place that is less than a mile away. The trip to the airport is 20 - 25 minutes early in the morning with no traffic, otherwise it is about 45 minutes or more. We highly recommend this hotel because of its charm, great staff, and excellent location. We would gladly stay here again.
