Eurostars Porto Douro

Location, Location, Location! I want to keep quiet about this hotel as I need it to be available when we want to go back to Porto – I just feel that a good review is best. Visited before in 2023, always a worry going back – didn't need to be. The locatioon is (IMO) perfect. Opening the curtain in the morning to the river view makes it special. Going to sleep looking at the lights accross the river make it magical. Almost evrything is a 20 min walk away and airport approx 30mins. Close enough to everything, far enough away to be quiet and relaxed. No noise from other rooms, no-one running around the corridoors, always staff available, breakfast was great, well stocked and cooked, losts of choice, cakes, cooked, cold meats, cereals, etc. and two types of coffe available. Plenty of alternative milks and staff constantly replenishing. The staff are what make any hotel, get a bad one and you'll never go back. So once again the staff make this one; from reception and bar up to cleaning and maintenance, all are professional and so happy. Nothing (and I mean nothing), is a problem. We arrived hours early (booked three rooms), two were made available quickly. We left late in the day (night flight), not a problem kept one room for hours after check-out to store our many bags and documents. Rooms (we had three and … ) all were cleaned early in the day (nothing worse than going back to your room after lunch to find it still in a post sleep condition). Room safe and fridge, clean a well maintained bathrooms. Beds very comnfortable. (Only critique is the TV could be a SMART version). The roof terrace bar is a nice addition (used to be a solarium), now a nice way to finish the day looking-out over the bridges and river traffic. Staying in Porto, one could do much worse than staying here – we'll be going back for another wekeend soon and we WILL be staying here again (so please don't book it up too much).
