Very comfortable hostel. Social but not a loud party spot, and the free breakfast was much better than your typical hostel.

I was in this hostel for 5 nights and i really enjoyed the staying here.
The beds super cozy, the room that I stayed in was little humid but that did not bother me at all.
We had breakfast everyday in the garden outside. Everyone was lovely and trying to help.
If I'm coming back to Sao Miguel-Açores i will stay here again for sure.

Lovely review

I should not recommend this hostel, because it is already pretty hard to book it. For good reason!
Adrian and his co-working crew are amazingly friendly, and they do whatever possible to please their guests. 
Bed, breakfast, common area, the attached restaurant and especially the very good vibes at "out of the blue" are just welcoming. Out of the blue hostel is a pretty clean and safe place to stay.
Offered tours by the hostel are stressless and provide good insights to the island's beauty and history.
The hostel is not the cheapest, but worth the money! I will return.

5* hostel

Loved this hostel! Four nights here and did two tours which were well thought out and a great experience, so glad we did them. The Food and drink here was such a great price and damn yummy!! Delicious and one of our favorite places to eat on all the island! Staff was always helpful and rooms cleaned every day. Highly recommend this unique place!

Dig this place!

Stayed here with my wife for an anniversary and it was the perfect spot to explore the island and city of Ponta Delgada from. It is located only a few minutes walk from the heart of the city and about 10 minutes from the waterfront. The staff were super accommodating and available to help assist with early check in or preparing an early breakfast. We stayed in a private room which was spacious and very quiet. This seems like a hostel that caters more to families, couples, and more seasoned travelers. I did not get the sense that it is a party hostel. They have a lovely garden where they serve a delicious breakfast everyday. I really had no complaints. The design of the place and colors are kind of weird. Purple and orange paint and weird sculptures everywhere that look like they were picked randomly out of a catalogue but that is a matter of taste. There is no parking but they recommend a few free lots near the hostel. We were able to find a spot in at least one of them each time.

Great location, affordable, and great breakfast and staff

The hostel was welcoming & everyone was kind. The daily breakfast offerings are delicious! Every day we had the option of hot tea, juice, espresso, yogurt, fresh bread with spreads, pancakes & an egg dish. We didn’t have any food restrictions but they were accommodating to others. 
The cleaning staff did a fantastic job every day straightening our rooms and the shared bathrooms. 
The garden is idyllic with ducks hanging about and plenty of unique places to hang out.

Great place to stay in Sao Miguel!

We have loved the hostel Out of the Blue!
The rooms are nice and cleaned, the backyard is super cute!

The breakfast is amazing: the food is super tasty and it is a nice moment to spend time with the other guests. 

The hostel offers fantastic tours around the island! Lidia, the tour guide, is extremely prepared and she brought us to the best attractions of the island! I recommend her tours!

Best hostal and best tours!

I stayed a week at Out of the Blue during the off-season, Feb '23. This A quaint little house is equipt with an outstanding garden, a pool, free breakfast worthy of a Michelin star and a neighbouring restaurant. This place was genuinely my peace and I would be lucky to return.

Out of this world

Stayed in the hotel style en-suite room located on the other building few doors away after spending the first night in the dorm room. I booked the dorm room because it was the only option left in their web and OTA but turns out they have a room when we were there. The upgrade was worth-it. The room was nicely decor and giving a resort like ambiance with lots of sunlight, a semi-open bathroom and a balcony. Staffs were friendly when we were checking-in along with those who serving breakfast. The breakfast were hearth and fulfilling. Went with their tour as well and it is a nice option for those without car to explore the island

A warm hotel/hostel in mid-Atlantic paradise

We stayed at the out of the blue Hostel in Ponta Delgada for the first time in 3 years. A lot changed and a lot stayed the same.  There is a new pool, they added a big pizza oven in the yard and breakfast has been totally reinvented. However, the staff is always so welcoming and helpful. It’s nice to see that such an amazing place is constantly looking to keep the guest experience exciting while also making you feel at home.  Will stay every time we are here in ponga delgada.
