Seaview Guesthouse

The Guesthouse is nice and clean and spacious. The pool area is nice to sunbathe in. The pool is freezing, but I feel all pools are freezing wherever you go. One day the pool was a bit dirty and had some bugs floating on the top, but when I messaged the property on booking.com, the man came and cleaned it for me and turned the filter on. The room and bed was comfortable. The AC has a remote so you can set it to different levels. The TV has Netflix built in it in different languages and has many channels on the TV itself. I arrived at 11:30am and they said I could leave my luggage there, but then they said my room was ready so I was able to check in and not have to wait until 3pm which was really nice 👍. I was expecting there to be some cooking facilities, but there is only a microwave, but the food at the restaurants is cheap so I just eat out. I did buy some things from Lidl though, which is a 10 minute walk away. There is also a McDonald's within a 10 minute walk. You have to cross a highway though, which I found scary. It has zebra crossings, but I still found it dodgy. Also there isn't a proper path next to Lidl to walk on. This is not the properties fault though, but worth noting if you are planning on walking everywhere. The pier is a 30 minute walk away where you can find many restaurants, cafés, the ferry, market, boat tours e.t.c. You could get a Bolt taxi for 4 Euros, or an Uber for 6 Euros, but they sometimes were not available right away and you had to wait a while for them, so I usually walked where I needed to go and got a taxi back at the end of the day as one morning I waited on a taxi for 20 minutes and missed the ferry I wanted to catch and had to wait an hour on the next one. The kitchen area outside the rooms you can use has tea, coffee, cutlery, some cups and small plates you can use and as I mentioned a microwave. It would have been good if there were some bowls as I bought cereal and milk to have in the morning, but I just bought a bowl at the nearby shopping centre to use. Also bigger plates would be good for leftover food from restaurants I wanted to heat up in the microwave the next day for lunch/dinner. The plates they provided were too small, like tea plates. They had a bottle opener in the drawer, but one night when I went to use it, someone had taken it and not put it back. When I rang the bell at reception, a woman kindly gave me a bottle opener and said I could keep it until morning. The fridge in the room is a decent size and you can fit quite a lot in it. You can also adjust the settings to make it colder. There was lots of space in the room I was in and the bathroom was big too and an area to hang your clothes with plenty of hangers. There was also a metal thing in the bathroom you could use to hang your wet bathing suits on to dry. They have shampoo and shower gel you can use and hand washing soap. It was a big walk in shower. The shower took a long time for the water to heat up and then when it did it got too hot, but because it was so hot outside I didn't mind having a cold shower to cool down, but I imagine this would be a problem in winter. I stayed for a week and my room got cleaned every second day and my bed changed once during my stay. The towels always got changed for fresh ones. The balcony area is quite big and nice to sit in. Someone in the neighborhood had chickens and the Cockerel crows every morning from 5am. Also quite a few people had dogs in the area that would bark all night, so bring your ear plugs! I could also hear one of the other guest's loud snoring through the wall. Apart from that the area is quite quiet as it's away from the busy main road. The pool area was very quiet, I had the whole area to myself whenever I used it. There were some red ants in my room and one bit me, but I got some cheap ant spray at a shop nearby and sprayed my floor with it and after that I didn't have any problems. I also got some citronella oil with defuser reeds and put this on the sink in the bathroom so I had no trouble with mosquitos coming in my room and could open the bathroom window if I wanted too. The cleaner always put two bin bags in your bin so if one got full you could take it out and tie it and use the other one until they changed it again every second day. Overall I really liked my stay here. I can't think of any other details, but if you have any questions I will try and answer them.
