Let me start with the setting: It is a dream house of an interior design couple. You will be staying like in any of the glossy home magazines. Taste is exquisite, all is done with great love.  This is clearly a 5 star rating.
We did pay 200 EUR per night, and that was discounted from 250 EUR per night. That is a lot of money. And now comes functionality: Internet is so slow and patchy that it barely works for your mails. Toilet in one room doesn't flush (at least it doesn't sucks down the stuff), shower head isn't fixed well and sprays happily in all different directions, the ventilator on the ceiling works only at highest speed (with scary vibrations). We don't mind paying 200 EUR per night, but for that we expect perfect infrastructure.

Fantastic interior design, patchy functionality

The website does not tell you but if you stay here be prepared to be surprised. It's everything you want, expect and yet never seem to quite get, unless you have had the good fortune to book a stay at this B&B. The rooms are divine, the bed and pillows must be the best we have ever experienced when staying away from home. Nothing is left to chance, the rooms are set to show off their beautiful contents, but without making you feel like you mustn't use or touch. Everything is perfect from the Bang & Olufsen TV to picture perfect table settings. Breakfast was delivered to our suite, you just can't call these rooms, at our selected time and another surprise. I've attached a picture, which speaks more than I can describe. The host, Viktor was helpful, discreet and always available. Book somewhere else at your peril!

Spectacular, stunning and then ....fabulous

We arrived a late afternoon in November and the B&B was empty. Our first reaction was we lost our way. However a few minutes later Victor the proprietor arrived and let us in. We where warmly welcomed and we felt so welcomed and appreciated as guest it was beyond our wildest expectations. We had booked two rooms one for our son and one for ourselves. It was our first trip to Algarve and to make a very long story short it was a fantastic experience so we decided to go back again soon. Victor and Carlos that runs this B&B have created an atmosphere and overall feeling that is really worthwhile to experience. One of the days we went to Conrads the 5 star hotel in Quinta and yes they have spent more money and have more staff but they are not even close to what Casa d´Alfarrobeira can offer. It is really something that you must see.

Buy a ticket fly down and stay over a weekend or a week or why not two or three weeks. Be sure to book in advance as there are very few rooms and they get booked very fast.

We will always remember our first visit with Victor and Carlos and we will come back soon.
