Apartamentos Valverde - Quinta do Lago

It wouldn't suit those wanting excitement, but, if you want a quite break, where you can lie by the pool all day with no disturbance taking the occasional dip, reading a book or doing nothing, then this is for you. Our rented apartment was pretty much in the middle of the building, meaning wifi was available by the pool. The pool is bordered by a wide edge, and the sun beds are placed safely around it with identical parasols of good quality. Everyone behaves properly, you'd stand out if you didn't. The apartment balconies and terraces face East getting sun until late afternoon. Some are rented, others are owner occupied. The grounds are very well maintained, pool daily, including emptying of bins, so the surroundings look up market. Lawns are watered automatically each morning. Ground level apartments have access to the pool, first and top floor do not, meaning you have to walk round the side of the building to access your apartment. The centre of Quinta do lago is up market. The place I found most welcoming was the Melting Pot bar, but many favour the Cheeky Pup pub and there is a very popular restaurant called Tony's. We didn't try the Thai restaurant on site but it was always busy. There are two floodlit tennis courts at Valverde too, used when cool enough to play. We used Uber's as transport, ten Euros's to airport, as low as 3 to nearby beaches. There is a supermarket nearby which is very busy but very well stocked. Not Lidl prices but not steep either - Waitrose-ish.
