Fantastic little resort. The room was spotless, spacious and homely. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Excellent laundry service too! Ideal, central location close to the market and a 5 minute walk to the beach. I was in the AC room and it worked brilliantly. Would definitely recommend.

Super friendly and clean

If you are travelling alone or with your partner and don’t fancy sharing bunk beds nor expending crazy amount of money in besch front resorts, this is the perfect price-value accommodation for you. 

3 minutes walk from the main market with cheap tasty philippino food.
7 minutes away from the beach.

Away from the crazy parties and noises but close to everything at the same time. The family are really sweet and helpful. Wifi work as in the rest of the country (poor) but the rooms have plenty space and private bathroom. The beds are hard and comfortable, I think I had the very best sleep while in the Philippines.

Ideal acommodation

I spent almost 2 months at Celtis. 

The entire resort area is well maintained and cleaned. I stayed in both the fan room and then moved to AC room. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. The ac room had a very big bathroom and lots of wardrobe space. There was also a safe available. Only downside was there is no kettle in either rooms or fridge. There was also no drinking water dispenser (but a 6L bottle can be easily purchased from market at very cheap prices). 

The biggest pro is the wonderful onsite management. Everyone was just so welcoming and friendly. I felt very safe and secure at the resort. They were always around to help out and answer any questions. 

The location is perfect as it is close to the market and bounty beach, but far away enough from the karoke noise (market) and roosters that can be quite loud. 

They do monthly rates for those staying long term which is ideal for anyone doing their Divemaster or IDC or just coming to work at a dive shop.  

A great option for travellers or long term stays.

Perfect for Dive Pro's

In Cebu for 8 days in total. My 4 days 3 nights stay at this resort on Malapascua Island is the best although it’s the simplest form of stay compared to the ones in Bohol and Cebu city. 
1) The owners are very friendly and nice, made us feel welcome. 
2) The room is very simple with an old school aircon(takes awhile to cool the room so be patient). 
3) Don’t worry, there’s hot water in the bath. 
4) There will definitely be mosquitoes and other insects since well, we are in full exposure of nature haha. 
5) But I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay at this resort. 
6) Near the market which operates day(some varieties of veg and meat but be warned of the overwhelming number of houseflies; I didn’t like it there) and night(bbq)

Great place, friendly owners

Overall very nice stay at Celtis Resort. We had an AC room and it worked well. 

Pros: 
Hot water works (though pressure could be better)
Very Clean
Nice, accommodating staff (helped us set up a private transfer from Cebu)
Good AC

Areas of Improvement:
Beds are passable but mattresses are pretty thin
Water pressure
No complimentary breakfast (not a huge deal, just a lot of resorts do include it)

Comfortable, Affordable Stay

We only stayed one night due to late booking and no other vacant nights, but we were very happy with our room. It’s affordable and matched expectations. Ac worked great and the room was clean. Downside was that internet didn’t work at all (we could connect but something must have been wrong with the router) and there was no breakfast included. It’s worth noting in general when coming to malapascua that you need to bring your own shower gel and shampoo, since this is not standard in any hotel/home stay. 
We would stay here again.

Affordable and clean

We found Celtis through TripAdvisor and decided to stay with them for 6 nights. 

We arrived at Celtis around 5:30pm and it was already dark. So we had porters carrying our luggage to Celtis from the beach which was very challenging as it was also raining at that point of time. It’s roughly a 7min walk to Celtis from cocobana beach. 

A local simcard and internet is very useful on this island as it is a maze in there! Especially when you’re new to the place and trying to move around when it’s dark.

Anyway,Lydia was already expecting us and greeted us when we arrived. We had to paid our porters 100 Peso each despite Lydia trying to help us lower the price.

Lydia and Mel then showed us to our fan room,Room 9,which was located on the 2nd floor. 

First impression, awesome,spacious room and clean! 

Every morning,the garden view is just gorgeous! 

Food wise from Celtis is so easy as the market area is just 1min walk away and you already have choices of food! 

Almost everywhere is about 5-7mins to get to. Do checkout:
- Guannas (super close to Celtis)
- Market
- Socialble (seriously good burgers)
- Bebot’s (awesome breakfast)
- Bukhaw Kiwi 
- Angeline’s Pizza (best pizza ever!)
- Hippocampus 

for really nice food!

Alright,to make things short,the fan room was good enough for us as during the night it’s quite chilly when it rains. Only problem was it always gets very stuffy after you use the hot water shower and when you hang moist clothes in the room.

Pros

• Lovely Resort (their garden is amazing! Especially the view from the 2nd floor)
• Spacious and Clean Room
• Room gets clean & towel get changed once every 2 days
• Quiet and far from the karaokes 

Things that can be improve
• Bathroom needs some ventilation as the whole room gets stuffy after shower.
• Water pressure can be better
• Toilet pump needs to be improve
• Security needs to be imposed

Yes,someone stole my girlfriend’s bikini top. Not cool. Just be careful when hanging your clothes outside.

In conclusion,the facilities of the room needs to be improve and security wise. Other than that,it’s almost like a perfect little home! :)



Lovely Hidden Resort! 

We spent 2 two nights in Celtis resort, the resort is 10mins walk away from the beachfront. Rooms are big and well maintained with big bed. AC works well. The caretaker is very friendly, warm, helpful and loves to chat. My girlfriend really enjoyed her company😊  Our room were made every morning, this is something we hardly see these days in most hotel services. The thing I like most is coming to the bar to watch television with cool sea breeze cooling you after hot day out. The resort doesn’t serve meal but don’t worry. 3mins away is a food market with almost all local delicacy- fresh fish, crab, pork, fruit smoothies, you name it. My girlfriend and I are a bit fussy about where we sleep but we did not regretted staying in Celtis resort.
