I stayed here for one night after three days in Amantani, and the hostel completely lived up my expectations!! I had a private room upstairs, the bathroom was spacious and clean, the hot shower was actually hot (something hard to find!) the bed comfortable, but overall, the staff was very helpful and friendly! I had to take a taxi to the station at 5 am, and the lady walked with me all the way out until I found a taxi, helped carrying my bags, and did it all with a big smile :) 

I would definitely recommend El Inti to anyone! :)

We spent here two nights and enjoyed it much!
The owner, Clotilde, is very welcoming and smiling.
He also arranged a wonderful tour to Lake Titicaca.
The hostel is also very cheap and all staff is helpful.
A great choice for a few days in Puno!

We arrived in Puno at night and found out that the hostel staff was there personally to meet us and get a taxi for us (because there were five of us, so she couldn't take the same taxi). Once we arrived, another staff was ready by the road side waiting for us and helping us with our luggages! We got our keys right away! It is not a fancy hostel but it does have what you need for a night or two. What's more important is the staff here are very friendly and helpful. Whenever we ask for something, they would try their best to help. We were waiting anxiously for our bus ticket to be posted to this hostel as we're leaving very early in the next morning. One of the staff actually went to the bus company office and helped us to pick up our tickets!! Again, don't expect anything fancy but just something clean and simple with very friendly staffs. Note: They don't speak much English but they are willing to try. Enjoy your stay!

Nice accomodation, friendly helpful staff!

Very friendly and helpful staff!

There are a lot of shady places near Lima airport and it's often hard to tell by the reviews until you're there and even hailing a cab isn't advisable. At least this place is established, safe, has other travelers, a common area, rooms by the night (not the hour!), and seems well run.  The downside is that it's rather loud. There are big metal doors throughout, including the bathroom doors. Every time someone goes in or out of the doors (including through the night for shared bathroom rooms), it's loud. That's kind of the nature of many hostels and at least it's safe and they helped with airport port taxis... but if you have a bigger budget, might want to just go for the Lima Holiday Inn and call it good for the night. If you're going to the airport in the morning, traffic can be intense... don't base the time to travel on KM... a few blocks can feel like an eternity.

Safe for cheap airport area, but hard to sleep

Upon arrival, I was greeted by an older couple, who were unable to confirm my reservation (through Hostelbookers). In fact, I  do not think they even had access to a computer. They were friendly enough, but insisted on payment in advance.  Things did not improve when I tried to show them my confirmation  and agreed price, (they were asking for more), and requested deduction of the deposit I had paid. In the end, they caved in, and told me to  sort it out with the morning help. My room was clean, but very basic, even for a low budget property. There is a lot of noise from the street, and other guests yelling up and down the stairs. At 04:30  I  was awakened by a couple a few doors down having a noisy 'domestic', and found the room to be a chilly 4 degrees Celsius. I shivered until 06:30, then gave up and checked out. The price had not changed overnight, and my deposit was not honoured.
The property is quite well located across from the train station, and close to downtown. The WiFi did not work in the room, but there was hot water......However, this pilgrim will not be back!

Very cold, very basic room.

Even if my story is quite funny, do not go in this hostal!! 
There is no 24h hot water as it is said or if you have you have to wait hours ! Internet on the computer is not free as it is said!! 
When I arrived, I do not know for which reason, they did not want to give the key of the room, it seemed the had lost it.. so each time I was going out for something, the guy of the entrance had to go up the three floors and open me the door.. After a lot of insistance, he eventually gave me the reserve key
I stayed in a three beds room for the first night at 20soles since two of my friends were joining me the day after from Cusco. At 4h45 am, someone knocked at the door. Still aslept, I thought that it was my friends arriving from Cusco, I opened the door and found a Peruan guy completely drunk talking to me half spanish and half quechua who just get in the room and go to in on of the beds screaming against his wife and making phone calls.. 

I get out immediatel, unfortunately I had already paid..
