A unique experience to see the rain forest and all its wonders up close and personal. Sleeping in an open room in the middle of the jungle was something different to what I’m used to, but I will never regret it... the sounds of thousands of animals and insects so close to you is something truly magical.
Take a low wattage torch it doesn't attract as many insects especially on night walks and make sure you set up your mosquito net correctly at night in your bed. The food was good and the guide was great. Getting there takes quite some time but is definitely worth the effort. The experience of being there will stay with me for ever.

Wild and wonderful

Our experience was truly amazing. We stayed in Alto Tambopata lodge 2 nights and we went to visit the Chuncho macaw Claylick. First of all, the lodge is located just next to the limit of the reserve which gives you the feeling of truly being in the heart of the rainforest and gives you a real chance to see some interesting wildlife (we saw monkeys, caymans and jaguar tracks on the trail!) Even though the place is quite rustic (expected when you are in the middle of the jungle) our bungalow was beautiful and we had a fantastic view of the jungle from our bed. At night we could listen the . The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. 
During our stay the river level rised more than usual causing a flood. This affected the common areas making them a little messy, but this didn’t affect the quality of our stay, on the other hand, it was quite shocking to see the power of nature in first hand. 
I definitely recommend this place
