My wife and I loved the relaxing stay at this lodge. Edwin looked after our every need.
Dinner was tailored to us and was very reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent and
served early to get us to the train station for an early train.

The rooms are large and nicely done for a lodge. The central lodge has high ceilings and a great fireplace.

At the present time, this lodge is one of the closest lodges from the Piscacucho station from which the trains actually leave for Machu Picchu until the bridge is fixed just a bit north of that station. If you are doing the four-day Inca Trail, this location is close to where you will start even after the train bridge is finally repaired.

The staff at the lodge will take you there for a small fee.

If you are staying in the Sacred Valley for a few days and doing it at a relaxed pace, this is a great place to do it.

A very attentive staff and relaxing experience

Reasons not to:
1. It is at least half hour away (by taxi) from Ollyantantambo (where the Matchu Pitchu train goes from) altho expedia makes out it is only 500m away
2. It is is fact near another local train station which is unfortunate as the trains blow their horn very loudly each time they pass thru and they start at 530am and stop at 10pm which means you are always rudely awaken in the morning and cant go to bed early
3.The lodge has no mobile reception, and no form of communication to the outside world
4.It is in the middle of nowhere making it very difficult to eat dinner outside of the lodge – eating in costs $12 each and you eat in what is essentially a canteen set up.
5.There are no other guests 
6.You have to pay your bill by cash (prob some dodgy tax dodge) even though on expedia you have to leave your credit card details as guarantee
7.The countryside maybe “bucolic” however there are so many gnats that you will be bitten alive if you walk outside your room 
8.The room is VERY basic – no tv or telephone, lots of dead flies, no quilt just blanket for the bed and it was very cold 

I would not stay here again even if someone paid me too! 

If you want to travel to Matchu Pitchu I would suggest go straight from Cusco – there are lots of taxis that will take you from Ollyantantambo to Cusco (vice versa). 

The only pro for the lodge was the nice Peruvian man who was the hired help – his food was lovely and he helped with suitcases etc but spoke no English.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

excellent experience at the sacred valley. at this hotel you will be able to stay in touch with the real life there, and feel the energy of the place.
