There are fancier hotels with pools and fancy bars in town. But for the fair price and great service, I don't know how you would do better. Sra. Gomez who runs the front desk was great with communication and she sent a taxi (free) to pick me up at the airport. She also let me play with the cat at the hotel. The room has good wifi, good air conditioning, and a hot shower with good water pressure (you CANNOT drink the tap water, don't do it). Also, there is not hot water in the sink for shaving, is what it is, that's not uncommon in South America. And you will need to buy drinking water at a nearby store. But there is a fridge, which was a surprise, so if you buy beer or something, you can keep it there. There is a room safe, but I didn't know how to work it. The breakfast is upstairs, it's not fancy but it's free and fine, fruit, toast, coffee and an egg. Everyone at this hotel is nice and helpful. The location felt very safe. I would stay here again. We had a fun communal moment during a thunder storm where guests and staff stood outside and watched. It was nice. I travel a lot in South America, and I can say this is a good hotel run by nice, honest, friendly people and you will feel comfortable here.   

For the price, I don't know how you could do better. Nice folks. 

We really felt like we were in Iquitos when we stayed here. The staff was warm and helpful despite our lack of Spanish. The room was clean and cool and quiet and the decor fits right in with the atmosphere of the area. We had decided to get there a day before the cruise and Adriana on the desk made us happy that we did. For us it was perfect. Even the breakfasts were good.

Perfect place for Iquitos

Very comfortable moderately priced hotel in a late 19th century building. Staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is very good and served in a lovely bright room on the 2nd floor. The hotel is very clean and conveniently located.

Epoca Hotel

Really enjoyed my stay at Epoca in between treks. The hotel staff is super welcoming and attentive. Breakfast is served with a view on the river. The rooms are very spacious. My room did not have a window to the outside but it did not bother me. Air conditioning and hot water! The hotel has a restaurant, which I did not try.

Great location and beautiful views / Amazing staff

Great place to stay, staff very helpful. Iquitos is a VERY noisy city and so it is lovely to find a hotel that has rooms away from the main road, and therefore quiet! Bar and minibar prices very reasonable. I would definitely return, but ask for Room 106 which has a kitchenette!

GReat place to stay in Iquitos

This hotel nearby the nice restaurants may seem a little run down but to us that didn’t matter. What did matter was the fact that the beds were really good (quite uncommon in Peru), that there was hot running water in the shower and a very well functioning AC in our family room. We were only in Iquitos for one night, as a starting point for our Amazon trip. But this was an excellent choice. The breakfast was really good (eggs, fresh fruit salad, toast and fresh juice). We would stay here again if we would make another trip into the Amazon.

Good hotel, good beds, good location

It was very nice to have the staff waiting for us at the airport. We stayed here one night before heading out on a jungle excursion. Our stay was very comfortable and the staff was very nice. The room had a kitchenette. The bed was comfortable. The water in this city comes from the Amazon River. It was fine for bathing and brushing our teeth. They have bottles of water (or beer) you can purchase for a fair price. The Amazon River is directly across the street. You can walk to shops and restaurants easily.  Internet in Iquitos is patchy.  I would stay here again.

Nice stay before heading to the jungle

Very nice and helpful staff. Good beds. Cold water from the Amazon for showers and in the sink. So you need to buy water bottles for brushing your teeth.

Nice hotel close to the center of the city. Basic facilities in the room

Good location, a few minutes walk from plenty of restaurants, shops, bars and the main square, 5-10 minutes from Belen. Quiet, sizeable room, good air conditioning. Rustic/colonial feel of the property. Free airport pickup.  Room had no external windows (although positive here is it was quiet), although I was aware of this after booking. On the day I arrived there was an issue with the water (repairs to the system taking place), while I understand this was a one-off, the time given for restoration of water was missed by a few hours, also I was not advised of the water disruption when I checked in, even though it was a “live” issue at the time. Breakfast quite disappointing, smallest serve of butter and jam I have ever seen, waiter was more interested in standing in adjacent bar area watching tv than keeping an eye on guest needs. Wifi coverage/speed poor (think this is an Iquitos town problem?)

Well located, sound hotel, some areas for improvement

This is a nice place to stay right across from the river. We stayed here one night before heading to the jungle. There was a small fridge in our room. We only ate the free breakfast at the restaurant but it was good. You can buy beers and water there for a fair price. The staff was very friendly.
