We arrived here and wee going to stay for 3 nights and ended up staying for 12!
Beds are very comfortable and have real cotton sheets!
There are simple rooms in the centre if the hotel with fan and then others on the outer section with private bathrooms and air con.
The hotel is INCREDIBLY CLEAN. The family who run it are very pleasant and although no breakfast is included they are happy to provide hot water etc.
A pleasant patio at the back where we ate our food and could hang out our washing.
Right opposite the bus terminal but VERY little  noise (we heard a few cars only on Fri night). They a happy to negotiate the price out of season so don't be put off by the prices behind the reception desk.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The hotel itself isn't anything fancy or exciting but it's clean and comfortable and we wanted a nice place to chill and rest and the rooms are private and pretty much the same price as dorm rooms in some hostels around. The owners are very sweet, friendly and helpful. It's located in front of the bus terminal which was great for arriving and leaving and the neighborhood itself is nice and everything is pretty close.

The place is super convenient, being right across from the bus station, but it still manages to be a pretty quiet and relaxing place.  The rooms are nothing special, but they get the job done for the cheap price you pay.  The owners are also incredibly nice and helped me out a ton in planning my visit to the ruins.

Great location. Great value.

Very friendly

Great and convenient place

For 200 000 guaranis for double room, we expected more. Bathroom is not so good, without shower cabin or curtain. And also there are ants. I believe that is why there are no photos of it on booking.com.
Morning light wakes you up at 7am, there are no dark curtains...

Bed is comfortable and it is right next to bus station. It seems fairly clean. WiFi good. 

Fair price is no more than 120 000 guaranis.


Overpriced and outdated

Stayed in this hotel first time in 2000. Stayed a couple of more times since, so decided to stay again as it is in a handy to the bus depot in front. Place has been renovated of sorts, however rooms are T I N Y!! Yes, the people owning the place are pleasant, however my experience was that you actually could hardly move around the TINY room. Then someone was in the hallway outside the door at 0705 hours talking and you could hear them as it woke me up, and then someone was SCRATCHING along the outside walls of my room on three of the walls for at least ten minutes at 0720 hours as I checked my watch. VERY VERY disappointing as I took the scratching as a wake up signal of sorts. Then about twenty minutes later, the SAME happened again. As I was leaving, noticed that the room next to mine was being painted. Couldn’t wait to get out of 
this TINY NOISY SHOEBOX. Didn’t bother with the breakfast as I couldn’t wait to leave. Yes, at one time it was a pleasant inexpensive option in Encarnacion, but the management needs to accept that there are MANY MORE options at a slightly higher price than such a tiny and noisy room. Sorry, but this was my experience this time. Managed to stay at the de la Trinidad Hotel, a at MOST ten minute walk away for double the price, but it is a FIVE star hotel with gorgeous spacious very modern rooms with wonderful views of the river and super breakfast, on the back side of the bus depot, NO MORE than 5 minutes walk to the bus booking offices at the bus depot.WOW, what a difference for an extra $ 25.00! And they let me check in at 0930 hours right after I checked out of Germano.

Used to be OK

The things this hotel has going for it: close to the bus station. End of list. 

We were in the first room, and you can hear everything at reception and the TV playing outside. The fan in the room sounds like it is going to fly off the ceiling and fall on you. The bathroom needs attention and the room is super small. After coming from the lovely El Nomada hostel in Asuncion, this was not a nice change. Perhaps instead of putting a TV in the room, Hotel Germano could fix the chipped paint, broken door, or any number of other upgrades.
