Location: on Isla Pastores with an easy free boat transfer from Almirante. It’s a quiet island and it feels like a private island retreat
 
Hotel: little houses dotted around the lovely grounds.they are all in different locations so decide where you prefer to stay.
They are all beautifully decorated
There is a lovely deck where you can snorkel ( gear provided), kayaked, SUPS. Also a nice pool with a view of the sea and jungle 

Restaurant: lovely breakfast and all other meals need to be taken there. Food is excellent.

This is a really lovely place. It’s incredibly relaxing and I really advise a stay here. Our only criticisms are that the Mariposa rooms is not suitable for 2 couples as we thought. Marie found a solution so that’s great. Also we would have appreciated a place to get water and coffee in the morning. Meal times felt slightly regimented.
It suits the owners but took away from the relaxed vibe. Having said that it’s such an amazing place for great value. Just go

Wonderful stay

Incredible beauty that can’t be described in words with generous hosts. The food and additional amenities are icing on the cake for this incredible property. 
It did happen to be very hot while we visited but the fans and breeze helped. Be prepared for the natural weather and environment.

Untamed Beauty

Everything about our stay here more than met my expectations. From snorkeling right off the dock to the fresh cooked meals using ingredients grown right on the island! The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are clean. We cannot wait to come back.

Perfect relaxing vacation

I cannot recommend this place enough, it’s paradise!!  The location and grounds of this property are breathtakingly beautiful!  The cabins are simple but clean, comfortable, and very well-appointed with everything you’ll need.  The main lodge is charming and beautiful!  The website pictures do not begin to do this place justice for how gorgeous it is!  
We cannot say enough about the wonderful service we received during our five days in February.  Christophe and Mary understand the art of hospitality and make you feel welcome and cared for the moment you step off the boat.  The food was outstanding!!  Truly like a fine dining restaurant.  The drinks and wine were also a lovely option every day and evening.  Meals were an absolute highlight of our time there.
Definitely walk the grounds, the garden and farm are incredibly beautiful and, as we were told, one of the nicest properties in the entire archipelago.  We saw so many little frogs and incredible plants on our walks.  
I hope to come back to Finca Vela with the entire family.  This was a perfect couples trip but would also accommodate children and families.  I’ve stayed at many luxury hotels around the world and Finca Vela is at the top as far as unique, special properties.  It was unforgettable!!

Wonderful Experience in Paradise

Solo woman traveler here. Stayed three nights in Colibri (one of six bungalows.)

PROS
- Easy to book; good communication prior to, and during, the stay. WhatsApp feature works quite well
- Great about informing guests: menu for the day, walking path map, kayaking map, transportation, etc.
- Reasonable rate and charges
- Super safe
- Wildlife: saw dolphins on the boat ride there. So many birds. Lots of frogs, butterflies
- Gorgeous setting, set back into the jungle, overlooking the water
- Comfortable bungalow. Dark at night. Hot water. Quiet. Hammock. Peaceful
- Charming communal areas with comfortable furniture and great views
- Topnotch snorkeling right off the dock. Saw millions of shimmery minnows 
- Paddle boards and kayaks. Books and games
- Meticulously managed. Impressive attention to detail and quality for being a 20-plus-minute boat ride from town
- Excellent food and restaurant service. Very prompt. Catered to my pescatarian diet
- Insect repellent and coils readily available
- WiFi in public area and bungalow
- Special place. One-of-a-kind

CONS
- No cell phone service, which wasn't a big deal, as I could use WiFi phone service. But when I wasn't using the WiFI, it would drop until I logged in again.
- Only tandem kayaks available
- Beds could use some padding
- I didn't feel welcome there, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the experience

One-of-a-Kind Property

Beautiful nature, environment, location. Perfect service, Everything is just perfect over there!We've stayed here at the beginning of our trip. It could not be better than this! You can grab SUP, canoes, or just dive into the water and see a lot of sealife. The room was perfect!

Staying at Finca Vela was a great experience. The owners are super friendly, giving us tips for our stay and setting up a great excursion. The meals were great — they accommodated vegetarian needs nicely. The location is gorgeous and the lodging is nice. Highly recommend!

Great location and hosts

All reviews are spot on! We’ve spent 4 nights and days in this ‘little heaven’. Combination of nature, luxury, nice food and tranquility is overwhelmingly beatiful. We enjoyed the food and the dedication of the owners🙏🏝️

‘Little heaven’

The Finca Vela Lodge surpassed all our our expectations - it was truly stunning! We could not stop commenting on just how beautiful the resort and the island was - the views were amazing and it was lively to have unlimited access to the kayak, paddle board and snorkels (snorkeling just around the Dock was some of the best we have ever done - loads of fish and well looked after,  clear coral). Our tour of Dolphin Bay and Zapattilas Island was great too, but we spend most of our time just at the resort as it was so lovely.  There was lots to do there too, and Christophe and Marie were great hosts - they made us feel very welcome and took good care of us, and the food was absolutely delicious (and healthy too!). Erika was really sweet and lovely too. The resort was run in an incredibly sustainable manner, using only purified rainwater and solare energy and woth barely an item of plastic in sight. We had an amazing time here and would definitely recommend it!

Tropical Paradise 

Cannot fault this beautiful place.  Every little detail has been thoroughly thought out  and it’s just stunning.   We were staying as a family 5 in the largest lodge which consisted of two separate rooms  joined by a deck.   Both rooms were tastefully decorated and although there’s no aircon, the fans worked well enough to keep the rooms cool.  

The main common area, pool and dock are gorgeous.    Very stylishly put together and when surrounded by the incredible gardens, you truly feel like you’re in one of the most special places ever.   There’s plenty of places to relax and read a book or play one of the many board games they have.   For kids, there’s also lots of things to keep them entertained such as the treasure hunt of the property. 

The food is divine; we enjoyed every single dish!  Chris & Marie are wonderful hosts and incredibly helpful.    We really enjoyed getting to know them. 

Love this place and can’t wait to return.
