2 reviewsWhen we arrived in Merzouga we got picked up from the bus station and got a room with a private bathroom in Akours nice Riad. We got served delicious tea in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Later we met our dromedaries Bob and Jimmy which were treated nicely and looked very healthy. After Bob and Jimmy took us into the Sahara we got to our desert camp in the middle of the dunes where we had the whole place for us. The camp was very cozy, quiet and peaceful. Mohammed prepared us very delicious food (I even got a special vgetarian tangine extra for me). Don't expect Luxury or sanitary facilities in the desert camp.. its a camp.. in the desert. But they offer a very authentic experience with amazing local guides! The next day, after watching the sunrise and riding back to the riad, we recieved a filling and delicous breakfast. Afterwards we took a shower and relaxed for the rest of the day and admired their cool fossil collection until we got brought to the bus station in the evening where we continued to Fes (They already reserved the tickets for us!) All in all it was an amazing experience with great value for money! If you are looking for an authentic night in the Sahara in a remote area, I highly recommend going with Akour and Mohammed! We were not missing a thing during our time in Merzouga thanks to them.
