Hostal de casa arcos was sadly a disappointment. I will say that the close proximity to many restaurants and sites made it tolerable but it lacked many of the very amenities they advertised on their website. 

First off, they said there was parking nearby that cost 6 pesos per day but unfortunately the front desk staff was unable to tell us where that lot was or any lot for that matter. We ended up settling on the closest private parking area for $400 pesos for 2 days. 

Second, the interior 1st floor of the courtyard served as a mini bazaar for many local goods. This wasn't  a bad thing for us at all except one of the vendors was located on the second floor next to our room. It  was a vape/ smoke shop that blasted music until 8pm. 

If you are a dog owner, they do charge an extra 100 pesos/ night for a dog and also stated that we could not leave the dog unattended in the room unless he was in a cage. Not saying this is a major issue but could  have been mentioned in their policy online. 

Lastly, they advertise a shared kitchen area for what presumably would include dishes, stovetop, a table, etc., but unfortunately we only discovered there was a refrigerator and a microwave which were in two completely separate areas of the top floor. 

 And when we decided to stay for only 1 night (after mistakenly already paying for 2) they were unable to provide even a partial refund. 

So overall, unless you are staying in the dormitory which I can't speak to, I would not recommend.

Great location but disappointed 

I want to give 3.5 stars for the hostel but there is no option on this.
Good points :
1. Very centrally located!!
2. Very clean and spacious.
3. Cheap and breakfast is included. 
4. Staff are helpful and they even give me tips on how can I get the room in a cheaper price. 
Bad points:
1. Cannot believe that there are only two bathrooms and two sinks (one is even not an ordinary sink) in a hostel with 4 dorm rooms and 2 private rooms. Even when I lived there , there are only less than 10 guests, I still need to wait for the bathroom in the morning just for using the toilet or the sink. 
2. Totally not enough power points in the room !
3. I have some doubt on the security. The hostel is shared with a cafe, studio, and a little shop. Th means that everyone can get into the hostel. But there are no locks for the room. Make sure u keep all the things in the big locker. 

Nice hostel which is centrally located but bathroom is a big problem 

I'm debating on the rating, between 3 or 4 stars. The thing is I have only stayed in two hostels so I have little reference to pull from. The place is very clean, it consists of three floors. The shared rooms are on the second floor, there are three of them and all have bunk beds I believe there are up to 24 beds in total. When I was there we were at most 6 people, I don't know if it gets more crowded on other days. I liked that they ask you for an official ID and other security information, they also give you a paper bracelet to identify you as a guest in the hostel. This things made me feel a bit more secure as I later stayed at a different hostel and the security was very poor. 

The lockers are relatively big and I could fit my backpack there with no problem. One tip is to check if your locker really closed since the floor is a little uneven and made some of the lockers not close correctly, they corrected this with a piece of wood and it then it worked fine. 
They give you a towel and a soap which come handy, there are two bathrooms, while not perfect it's not bad and I had a shower on the one inside the house. The privacy is fine since you can lock down the door (just make sure the second door is secured to the ceiling). 

The location is the best part, you are right in the middle of downtown and there are many things at walk distance, like restaurants, stores, parks, etc. On my research for hostels I think there was none with a better location. The staff was courteous and helpful. On the ground floor there is a little cafe and the food is fine, they give you 2 coffees at the price of one for being a guest at the hostel plus the lady servicing there is nice. 

The place has a little patio in the third floor, very nice for chilling outside though it gets a bit cold at night. It also has a little lounge, and 3 cardboard chairs with a TV that has Netflix. There is little to no decoration, it is very stark, though I guess that's how most hostels are? The bunk bed was clean though not very comfortable, it felt uneven and I had to sleep in an awkward position. 

All in all it's an ok hostel. The wifi worked fine though it doesn't work perfectly in every room.
