Sun Siyam Iru Fushi

We have been to the Maldives to four different resorts before and this time decided to return to Sun Siyam Iru Fushi. All I can say is that it was an amazing experience again - and we were made to feel incredibly welcome as returning guests. The message made from reeds on the bed saying ' Welcome Home ' epitomises the care and attention , even giving us the same villa , and the same wonderful Butler , Thahseen , who once again provided exceptional service. Thahseen is so kind and gentle in manner , and thoroughly efficient in everything he does , always with an engaging smile. Everything about the island is excellent quality , from the wonderful restaurants delivering exceptional food, the spa is incredible and we received excellent treatments whilst we were there. However what I would say that makes Iru Fushi stand out is the attention and service provided by all the staff - who are so engaging and wanting to make our holiday as great as possible. As you walk throughout the island all the staff will say 'hello' or ' good morning' and always with a warm smile - just helping to make the holiday feel so special. It is slightly unfair to highlight individuals as all the staff are magnificent , but I will make special mention of a number of the staff ( please forgive me if I do not include everyone who has been so great) In no particular order I would like to especially mention: At Bamboo restaurant, Hakim, the head chef, , who we had met previously was wonderful to meet again and so attentive to my wife ( who has allergy to nuts and gluten ) making such amazing food ; and Hamdhan who is so engaging and happy, supported by Such ( Sucharita ) who has great spirit and a wonderful smile. All the staff at Taste of India all the staff were great but a special mention to Jadeja and Sunaina ( such a lovely voice!) for making it so special. At Islanders Grill and Reflections bar, we catered for brilliantly and a thank you to Shehan for your lovely travel tips on Sri Lanka , and Rasu , always serving our drinks with a smile ( the Blueberry Daiquiri was great by the way!) I big thank you to Sunil who we were so impressed with at the Wine Cellar evening , and became a good friend for the rest of the trip , always chatty and engaging every time we met ( we were just sad we could not organise a trip to go and see Inaz and Ashan from the Kurry Leaf at Siyam World who we had such fun with last year!) Also thank you to Thilina who looked after so attentively from the Waters Edge Bar, knowing what we wanted to drink even before we asked for them ! and also Deepisna - always welcoming us with a wonderful smile for breakfast! The last final special mention is for Nalaka the head chef at Trio and Iru restaurants - who could not have been more attentive and helpful throughout our holiday , always ensuring my wife was especially catered for , wherever we went. Making a special individual dessert for her on her birthday was just one of the many special things he did for us. All I can say is a massive thank you for everything you did for us - you are such lovely man and a credit to the island. In conclusion I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone at Iru Fushi for making the holiday so special - and we look forward to visiting and ' coming home ' soon!
