Longonot 43 - Lodge

We had a very pleasant time during our 9 day stay at Longonot 43-Lodge. Room were clean and comfortable made up nicely daily. The staff were wonderful and very helpful at all time. We were working supporting a mission and found our location convenient to our work in a safe environment and reasonable access to downtown. We ate breakfast daily and had most dinners at the facilities. The food was great and catered to our flexible schedule.

I stayed at Longonot for 10 days in April for a charity trip.  The accommodations were so much better than I expected.  We stayed in the main building.  One of the rooms has AC too.  There was usually hot water although sometimes it was cold when everyone tried to shower at the same time (we occupied 5 rooms - 3 people each).  But It was much better than other arrangements in Lilongwe.  The manager is great and super helpful...the cooks are great too and they quite good at making all kinds of cuisine.  The property is well secured and is walking distance from the city center.  The rooms were simple but clean and the beds were comfortable.  There's also a nice living/dining area to relax in which can accommodate large groups.  They do have high speed internet too, although it isnt always working well...it was faster than any of the net cafe's around.

Overall it was a great stay and I'd highly recommend it for someone staying in Lilongwe.

Group stay at the Longonot

Pleasant stay at Longonot. Very nice clean room, comfortable bed with nice linen, and shower. Friendly assistant at the front desk. Decent breakfast: cereal, egg, toast, sausage and drinks. Air conditioning in room a big plus in summer. Mosquito net provided. Nice porch and garden at the back of the 

Cons: Overpriced at $40/night. No wifi. No drinking water in rooms: have to pay K350 for 200 ml  bottle.

Comfortable, clean and friendly 

I stayed at Longotnot for 8 nights, and was very happy with my stay. They have reasonable prices and the rooms are big and clean. The guesthouse is situated 10 minutes from town, and I loved that it was quiet and that they had a big garden we could use. I was a little disappointed by the food, only ate dinner at the hotel once. Friendly staff and good service.

Longonot

I had stayed here over 150 days in total.  Owner/manager suddenly becomes aggressive with me when I suggested to her that I would go elsewhere because I didn't agree with how she treated her staff. Stay away.
