Despite the crisis themplace was immaculate.  Lovely staff super kind owners and an excellent long lazy lunch of lobster 🦞
Can't wait to work out how to get back without kids!

Les Tipaniers Lodge is literally THE BEST ecolodge in Nosy Boraha. 🥰 They're located in the North (maybe 2 hours from the airport) part of the island where the beach is just breathtaking. The road might seem long till you get there, but it is definitely worth it. Palm trees, white sand, crystal clear blue water... it is exactly how you imagine the paradise tropical beach. 🏝🌊

The staff was welcoming and genuinely very caring. The hosts were awesome. Everyone was kind and polite. They all make you feel like home. ❤

And can we talk about the food? They serve the best dishes ever. Everything I ate there tasted amazingly delicious. They can even make vegan meals although they're literally located in the middle of nowhere.🥺😭🥰

Take the king size bungalow! It has a beautiful bay door that offers the best view ever. Their bungalows are spacious, clean, and beautiful decorated. The large windows give the room an airy feel. 🤩 Since they're an ecolodge, you can sometimes see lizards and ants in the room, but you just have to tell the hosts, and they'll give you an insect repellent. 👌

This hotel is a must try if you ever get to visit Sainte Marie Madagascar. I recommend it at 1000% 🌞👌👌❤

In one word, Les Tipaniers Lodge is AMAZING ❤❤❤ I'll be back!

Best stay in Sainte Marie

Lovely hotel in the far north of the island. The beach is fantastic - great for playing with two young children and also swimming in the bay. We stayed in a family bungalow which was exactly that - large bungalow with two bedrooms (double in one room, bunk bed and another double in the other), separate living room and bathroom - and literally a stones throw from the beach. Food was delicious, the menu changed each day but there wasn’t a huge choice (might be an issue if you have fussy eaters). Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was cleaned impeccably each day. This hotel is further away from the capital and many other hotels but is perfect for just relaxing and going to the beach, however, if you want to explore more of the island, you might want to stay somewhere else for at least part of your stay (we also stayed in hotels further south).

Great family bungalow right next to spectacular beach

This hotel is located at the north tip of the island away from the hustle and bustle of the port town and busier south end of the island.  It is an oasis of calm and the setting is truly special.  The beach in front is pristine and the sea is one of the nicest swims I've had in an ocean in a very long time - it is crystal clear and it gets quite deep (unlike the rest of the East of the island where the lagoons are very shallow.
Fabiola and Giles are fantastic hosts and gave us a very warm welcome and were always on hand for anything you might need.
The food was by far the best we had during our 3 weeks travelling around Madagascar.  There is a great choice of seafood and all beautifully presented.  The attention to detail carries through to the accommodation and surroundings of the hotel.
If you are planning a trip Sainte Marie, I would definitely include a stay here - I know I will be back!

A little corner of Paradise!

Had the most wonderful 5 nights stay at this Lodge! Most pristine beach, super accommodation! Had more than enough space for my family of 5, and literally had he beach to ourselves the entire time! The north of the island is really quiet and there is NOTHING TO DO! except hang out and enjoy the stunning setting and the amazing beaches. 
I holidayed here with 3 boys and we had an awesome time together! The lodges food is incredible, fish caught daily prepared with Malagasy flair and fresh ingredients that literally fell out of the coconut tree!!! If it doesn’t grow on the island you can’t get t there, so the food is all organic and really tasty! My kids were thrilled at the chocolate crepes for breakfast everyday! And Malagasy coffee is awesome!!! If you visit this side of the island, be sure to get a local preparation (the hotel owner will provide it) of sand flea repellant! I was attacked by the sand flea on Ile Aux Nattes (one of the other islands) so by the time I arrived here it was too late, the damage had been done and I was covered in bites, however the local remedy sold at this property helped a lot!! So my only advise to travelers to this area is do your research and come prepared, those sand Fleas are pesky and hey itch like mad!!! 
Other than that, had the most amazing stay and made memories to last our lifetime! Definitely going back! 

Family holiday to Madagascar 

This is an absolutely beautiful and perfectly maintained ecolodge with amazing surroundings including a large garden and direct access to the beach. Nice staff. Good food, albeit limited menue options. One needs to be aware, however, that this lodge is located at the far north end of the Sainte-Marie island, approximately 1,5 hours drive from the Ambodifotatra town, and with very limited transportation possibilities. We stayed one night at the end of the low season, and there was absolutely nothing to do in terms of activities. It seemed though as if they do arrange whale watching and other things in the high season (at least we saw a price list). We cannot think of a better place to go for a few days of absolute peace and quiet. But if you want to explore the island, it is probably not the best option. Also, not suitable if you plan to leave by the ferry, as it leaves very early in the morning. Big minus for the very slow, badically useless, internet. Otherwise, an amazing place.

Robinson Crusoe Paradise

During our 3 weeks honeymoon in Madagascar in Sept-Oct '16, we stayed at Les Tipaniers Lodge for 5 days. It was one of the best accommodation we had in Madagascar, we loved the position of the lodge (far from other crowded area of the island), we liked the politeness and the attention that the staff and the owners have offered to us, we were delighted by the amazing food and cocktails we served, we appreciated the cleanliness and eco-friendliness of the bungalow. We enjoyed the beaches that were most of the time empty, we did snorkeling and kayaking (rented from the lodge). We also did a trip across the island, through the jungle across the island, alone by ourselves, to see some natural pools and an old abandoned lighthouse. We dream that someday we could go there and stay for one entire month and maybe work remotely from there (there is WiFi).
