Situated in the historical heart of Liepaja in the ideal Old Town location within walking distance of the beach, rooms are generously spacious and adequately equipped, and the staff is friendly. One of the most outstanding hotel breakfasts throughout the entire Baltic region. The hotel is tucked away on a charming side street. All major attractions are easily accessible on foot. The accommodation offers tranquillity, and spacious, immaculately renovated rooms with convenient amenities. The attentive and helpful owners, along with the welcoming ambience of the hotel, really contributed to making our time in Liepaja truly enjoyable.

Luxury for reasonable price!
Hotel has classy and tidy rooms, welcoming atmosphere, polite and friendly receptionist. Breakfast with wide variety of tasty food in a cozy room. Wi-fi, TV, hair dryer, kettle for making hot beverages in the room.
As a motorcycle traveller I recommend Vilhelmine hotel because it has a private parking in the yard and gates are closed at night - your bike will be safe.


Luxury for reasonable price and private yard for parking.

Liepaja will be the European capital of culture in 2027. Still a way to go for the city. But Vilhelmine hotel is already well prepared and ready. Perfect location in the old town, walking distance to the beach, spacious, fairly well equipped rooms, friendly staff AND: one of the best hotel breakfast offerings across the whole Baltic!

Highlight of a city in transformation

The hotel is in the historical center of Lijepaja,  on a side street, 5 min with the tram #1 till railway station (bus staition), 8 € taxi or 40 min by foot from the ferry. All attractions including the tidy Strand Park (except for Russian quater with jail) can be reached by foot. Quiet,  big & tidy, freshly renovated rooms, coffee and tea facilities, plentifull and variable breakfast. Parking on the yard. Access in the night time. Speed WiFi. BBC. The hotel and the helpfull owners make the time in Lijepaja enjoyable. 

Pleasant surprise 

I have stayed here twice. Once with my wife and once with my wife and 8 year old. Staff is very friendly, first time we had too leave at 5am but there was still breakfast and the owner got up to bid us farewell and wish us a good journey. Rooms are clean, well spaced and properly maintained. My 8 year old can't wait to go here again. We will visit again this year and next year.

This hotel is PERFECT !

Perfect

We stayed there because it was planed to visit the theater. Dinner options were also nearby. A carefully restored building with old wooden elements. Especially the stairs that give the building a special charm. Our room was very spacious, on the roof floor. Staff kind and helpful. Breakfast rich, in the nice cellar. A comfortable yard for parking.

Small family hotel in the center of Liepaja

Maybe I caught the hotel on a bad day? Maybe my expectations were too high? Maybe all the other reviews have been written by friends of the owners? But my experience of the Hotel Vilhelmine was rather different to the other reviewers.

First, the rooms were rather grubby. The dust in the air vent in the bathroom was years thick. The lamps, cupboard shelves etc. were similarly covered in dust. I was particularly amazed at the fact that the cover sheet for the mattress did not fit the bed - it was too short. There was a good 5-10cm. of exposed mattress at the head of the bed. Urgh! Hardly conducive to a good nights sleep. I pulled the sheet up so that the feet part of the bed was exposed to the mattress. But this is pretty terrible housekeeping - the sheet has to fit the bed! The shower was also broken...

Breakfast was a little worse than I had expected after experiencing the room. Some strange baked beans with chopped up raw onions in the sauce (!?!), fried eggs that had been cooked hours earlier, sweet buns that had been chopped into tiny pieces (to stretch out the portions?), a coffee machine no longer fit for purpose (it offered to make me a "smell" coffee) and so on.

The plus side is that all the staff were very nice indeed. And the location is good - all the sights, restaurants, museums etc. are in walking distance. But everything to do with the rooms and the breakfast needs to be upgraded. And fast.

Oh Dear...!

Third time we have stayed here and will surely return.
Have no complaints whatsoever. This time we had a large top floor room which we really liked for the space and privacy (nothing overlooks it). The breakfast food selection is presented in small portions but it is always well refreshed which makes the selection appetising. We needed nothing else.

Calm and comfortable

We have been coming to this hotel for 7 years now and it never disappoints! Mr Dags always treats us so well. The rooms and apartments are very clean and comfortable. The location is excellent for getting around Liepaja. Highly recommend this hotel. Until next time...

Back Home at Hotel Vilhelmine

Mr Dags the owner is very kind, keen to help in any way he can. Quiet and comfortable hotel, very nice and varied breakfast. Easy walk to centre of town or to beach. Top room was too hot but it was during a heatwave.
