Phouchan Resort

stayed here back in 2011, its a great little gem. had all  our food at the hotel , because it was so good. her english wasent the best - but then shell just call a friend. and we ll sort everyting out. clean towels everyday. its a long but bnice walk to town.  At the weekend we saw wedding couples , they all came to have there picture taken,  in the beautifull surrendings.
    Defenately at place to come back to. so nice and friendly :)

The rooms were nice, the reception stored out motorbikes in their lobby locked up overnight as they said the runway the hotel is located on is quite popular, Breakfast was not very good at all, very very oily to the point where it was quite sickening. (And were not shy of fatty oily foods). Shower nice and hot (Individual Heated Tanks not instant hot water units) but not much capacity, not so great if a few people are trying to shower right after each other. Thankfully many great places to eat nearby including the italian - lao restaurant on the way out of the markets to the main road. Great location right next to the night markets, these markets have a fair bit on offer but not as varied and not as much local trinkets etc for sale as the larger markets in other laos cities. We didn't get to the MAG Visitors centre here but have been to many others, definately would be worth a visit to see the history and impact of the Vientam war on Laos. Also plain of jars very interesting and quite picturesque.
